    My Trip Report

Since it's the holidays, I thought I'd take a day trip down to Atlantic City to do some Christmas shopping at the Walk Outlets and have a fun time. I had the day off from work on Thursday, so a friend and I drove down to Caesars AC.

We got there around noon and hit the slots as we usually do. Fun fact: It's a lot easier to get drinks service at Caesars AC when you go on a weekday in the off-season. There were a lot fewer people there although the tables and machines were still occupied. I was able to get two screwdrivers in about 20 minutes. Good stuff.

I went into my slot play with my usual attitude which is "I'm going to lose my entire bankroll and that's okay because I'm having fun and making new friends." I loaded up my free play and that got hoovered up by the machine in about fives seconds flat. I was playing a dollar machine called "Unicorn Dreaming" which clearly is meant for women and fabulous guys, but, hey, I am secure in my manhood, so whatever.

I noticed something really interesting. For some reason, almost every spin was winning something. I got one bonus round of free spins and suddenly I'm up $300. Hey, not bad. Let's keep doing this. I get a second bonus round and earn a bunch more, then hit for extra spins midway through and earn a bunch more. Now I'm up $700. I decide to play a little more to see if there's anything else I can shake out of this machine. Another $300. I won $1000. In for $500, out for $1500.

It's the best win I've had in AC yet. My friend and I are both freaking out -- and we are being loud about it because we've been drinking. A nice old lady had wandered over to watch when I started hitting and she gave me some very nice advice: "Now you cash that out, young man, while you've still got it. You don't get a win like that every day and you should go buy yourself something nice." Aw, thanks, lady. I cash out and bring the slips to the casino cage, because I feel like that's too much for the machines. The guy in the casino cage fist bumps me about ten times during the transaction so I tip him $20. Merry Christmas, buddy!

We hit the buffet for a comped meal and stuff ourselves silly. Caesars' buffet is pretty good, although the milkshake machine wasn't set up that day. I had some really good seafood. My friend had the turkey. The cupcakes weren't too bad either. I tipped our drinks server nicely, because she did a good job and I was having a great day.

After that, we went to the Walk Outlets to do the Christmas shopping we came down for. Here's a tip: If you are a AAA member, go to the services spot at the very north end of the Walk right where the outlets begin. They don't advertise this, but if you show them your AAA card, they will give you a booklet with all kinds of discount coupons for all the shops, plus free admission to the Absecon Lighthouse and free admission to the AC Aquarium. I saved about $50 using those coupons that day. I have very modest tastes, so I only got a few things for myself: 2 pairs of DKNY jeans, a new pair of boots, and a pair of Minnetonka moccasins to use as slippers at home. The rest of my shopping was for gifts for my wife and relatives. I prefer spending on family and friends instead of spending on myself. That's just how I am.

We'll be back again in February to probably return some of Caesars' money to them, but it was nice to come out on top for a change. I loved coming home with that nice fat wallet.

    Happy Holidays, everybody!

Nice going ,funny how when you hit some decent money in AC everybody wants to be your friend all of a sudden. I'd fist pump you for $20 even $10.

This is a serious comment: be careful about exuberance in Atlantic City. There are hookers a plenty and other unsavory characters in that town waiting to separate you from that cash, and somehow AC seems even more desolate and shady when you walk out of a casino with a wad of cash. Please don't think I'm criticizing you in any way, but as a 20-30 time veteran of Atlantic City, there are certain disreputable characters seeking those who seem just a tad too excited, especially as the town's fortunes seem to interminably decline. Please be careful.

Sorry for the rant, but this is a crucial point about AC.

Glad you had fun, I hit AC almost monthly or bi-monthly and have never won at Caesars (or Borgata at least lol). Nice work!

congrats... I had a nice hit and a little old lady said almost the exact same thing to me. ...Um, I didn't quit and gave majority of it back. I blame her of course for messing up my mojo!!! lol
