It is nice when you get a floor that takes care of the players and keeps everything fun and smooth.

occasionally you get a good pit boss, some care to keep you playing and some dont care about anything...earlier this year in new orleans im at the roulette table, i play the same numbers all the time, the table was packed and I could only get on at the very end seat near the dealer. the bets on the top end I cant reach so normally you put them on the table and tell the dealer and they will place them for you...im at this table playing for a lil over an hour up and down and no issues with the dealer placing bets. I put my money down for those few bets i cant reach and tell her again and she says to late, no more bets,im quick betting so it wasnt like i waited till the ball was spinning or a last minute bet...I was kinda pissed because "2" hit and I was playing $10 on it every spin...I called the pit boss over, told her what happened and the dealer caught a lil attitude...the pit boss grabbed $350, placed it on the wheel edge, then walked over and placed it in front of me and apologized. the dealer left right after that too

Now that's the kind of service from a pit boss that makes you come back to their casino. There's one pit boss at Boulder Station that I could see doing that...he doesn't treat the players like crap (like the majority of it bosses do)...they'll get the $350 back from you sooner or later..why not do something for the player that will get them to keep coming back & tell their friends about your casino too..

i've had a couple of instances down through the years where a pit boss went above and beyond and made me want to stay and play with them.

a couple years ago, i was playing pai gow at the wynn at a $50 table. i was absolutely getting smoked, pretty bad when you are getting hammered every hand playing pai gow. anyways, these three guys from the british version of the world series of poker (not sure what they call it, they were big shots on the tv end of things) were also playing but they were betting anywhere from 1-3 k per hand. they were friendly and talkative and i was enjoying the table except for the beating i was taking. i'm down to my last bet and i get 33 and 66 but no card higher than a nine. usually i would just split them but i was getting pounded so bad that i just wanted a push so i kept the two pair together and put something like 97 on the 2 card hand. lo and behold, the dealer gets his first pai gow of the day. one of the british guys starts giving me hell for not playing the hand right and i explained why i did what i did. so this guys says to the pit boss (who stood next to them the entire time) to fix my hand. i objected, said i meant to play it that way but the pit boss came over, seperated my pairs and said pay him. granted, it was only a $50 bet but i thought it was very nice and unexpected of him. he obviously wouldn't have done it if i was playing heads up with the dealer. anyways, i won like the next ten hands, got back to even and walked away.

personally, even if this incident hadn't happened, i think the customer service at wynn is second to none. i'm not a big deal, rarely a black chip bettor, but they treat me like a king every time i walk in the door.

I've had pit bosses pay me for bets that I was making all along but missed.

One time at Wynn for a $500 hard 10 they paid me 3500 when the bet wasn't there because I was always keeping a purple on each hardway the entire time.

I thought that was pretty stout.

Ive had nothing but great experiences in the mansion HL. Even had a pittboss (blonde thin lady) remember me from a trip with my wife while playing in whiskey down and asked where she was while playing bacc in the mansion the next trip.

Played bj with the dealer from undercover boss in whiskey down and he was very nice even though he kicked my ass. Thats when I met this pitboss since she was on that game at the time.

Agreed. Its not exclusive to MGM, but having dealers and floorpersons remember you is always nice. It makes me feel more comfortable at the casino. Although there is one casino I go to where it seems all the high limit dealers and floor know be my name, even if I have no idea who they are. That is actually a little unsettling, lol. Makes me think I am spending too much time there!

Not a slam on the Fremont, but I still have a sour taste in my mouth over this one:
A few trips back, I was playing one of the 2-deck tables at Fremont...they have this sucker/side bet called "Lucky Ladies"... it pays on any 20, but pays more based on the kind of 20 you get. The best pay-off is for two Queens of Hearts @ 200-for-1.
I rarely play this bet, but I always play it on the first hand dealt after a shuffle... always!
So - you guessed it - I get sidetracked with a CW delivering my drink & I don't get my bet down for the first hand after the shuffle - 2 Qs of hearts.
I say something to the dealer, who calls the pit over & confirms that I have played it on the first hand after the shuffle every single time since arriving at the table.
Pit-critter shrugs & says very matter-of-factly, "That's a real shame", and walks off.
Dealer felt bad for me, but at least she tried.

I was playing the don't solo at a craps table at Cosmo. I put a bet on pass by mistake, 12 came dealer takes my bet. I said "shit was I on pass, he goes yup" Three or four rolls later the Boxwoman gives the dealer $10 to give to me, then she says "You were betting don't all the time clearly this was a mistake" Only $10 but that was nice and she did not have to do it as it was my bad. Hell if the 7 came I would not had offered to give it back :evillaugh (though when I was paid on losing hands I was always honest with the dealer)

Also one time at the Rio with all my buddies. This was their first time playing Pai Gow Poker. Three of them mistakenly miss set their hand (low higher than high) every time pit came over and changed it and paid them winners I did it once. It was a minor error like AJ up when I should have done A10. Something like that. I would have had a push. Pit called over, says no way dealer very apologetically takes me bet!

I was occasionally putting down come bets and was going to put one out after the dice were out, so I did not. Seven out, and I told my friend "Darn it, I was just going to put out a come". And the dealer paid it.

    Made me feel good.
