Don't think that I will be able to convince the misses to go to Vegas this year. Too much going on ( Christmas travel this year , two week mission trip for her me staying home to manage business, niece wedding in June, son #2 wedding in August, nephew wedding in September, son #2 wedding in January). Maybe just maybe a gulf coast beach trip, could be pulled off. Any recommendations on casinos on the coast, preferable with beach access.

Really the only beach access will be Biloxi. Beau Rivage is the class of Biloxi but there are tons of options for casinos in Gulfport/Biloxi.

I'm a regular at The Beau ~ nothing comes close to it in Biloxi. Even though I'll be in Vegas at Wynncore in about a week, Biloxi is a heck of alot easier getting to from the east coast for quick trip. The Beau actually is a Steve Wynn property way back when (& it looks a little like Bellagio). Enjoy it

    Back to Wynn to Win!

One in a while I get a mailer from there. Don't think the wife can pass up free air fare and room. Going to give it a try.

The beach in Biloxi isn't even worth driving by.

True. The closest half decent beach is Gulf Shores in Alabama. Destin is superior to GS but there's no casinos there.

they do call it "the Bellagio of the south"

there are several to choose from on the coast and few off the coast from biloxi to waveland...I personally stay at harrahs gulf coast as its a CET property so its comped but it is really small, it has a sky bridge to cross the road but not much of a beach

now my friend stayed at Island View a few months back when it was warm out and they said it was really nice and they treated them really good for first time there...heres a few pics

Beau has an excellent pool but it will be too cold at Christmas time. to use it. Same is true for the beach and the best one in the Biloxi area is on am offshore island you can visit via ferry.

The original name or the Beau Rivage was to be Bellagio but Wynn changed it. Even people working at the Beau don't seem to know that tidbit. I will be at the Beau 15-18 Dec.

Beau did not build it. They did get naming rights and have a suite, etc. Minor league team plays there.

Now I wish I did make the drive to Biloxi when I was in New Orleans. Guess I'll have to try again another time.

I have not been in almost 3 years

besides the casinos, a walmart and ton of waffle houses, there is still not much out there, last time i was there, went by the beach, the water was down right nasty...ive been in the gulf plenty times and never seen it so bad

as for the stadium, it was being built right by the Beau and named "MGM stadium" or something like that so I assumed it was something the casino built

Was just in Biloxi last weekend. My host said the locals do not get in the water in Biloxi. They have a few barrier reefs that keep the water from flowing to and from.. and it gets pretty murky. The beaches are nice for walking, and the pool at the Beau is nice.
