Do you have a favorite saying, colloquialism or quote from the 50s-60s-70s, that you still use today? One that you get the "what" look from the young folks.

Mine is the title of this post, complete with a shaking fist. LOL!!

Ha! That's a good one! I say... "Bang... Zoom" a lot (from the old Honeymooners). That's was a little bit before my time, but I LOVED watching the reruns with my Dad.

    I have TOO MANY.

One that comes to mind ----
I tell my 4 yr old son this one.
When I'm trying to get him "to get going/moving" ( out of the house, get dressed, etc...)
    "C'mon !....let's rock ! "
He used it on me the other day + I was laughin' like hell !

    Bada Boom, Bada Bing.

    Alright, alright, alright.

    It's always something around here.

At work after a successful task completion I sometimes clap my hands like a craps dealer and show my palms up.

I used to say totally in jest "think you'll ever amount to anything?" I quit that one after one person took it seriously and had a conniption fit.

I give out that flat toned "Wow" a lot. And the similar "Cool". Another one is "Really", which is delivered as sarcasm. They are just like the modern "Dude", there are scores of situations and moods that they can be used for.

    "Want to have sex?" "Cool".

"I just hit a Royal for $4K!" "Wow".

    "The 76ers lost". "Really".

    "Whaddaya gonna do?"

"You make a better door than a window" when my view is blocked.
"You got a mouse in your pocket"? When someone starts off by saying "we should......."
"You want some fries with that shake"? When a woman with a nice butt walks by.
"You have a point, but your hat's covering it".

I frequently say "I can dig it" when I like something. I also say "Groovy". I tend to watch a lot of Bruce Campbell films, which probably explains it.
