I have the TR Visa card...just curious if they will let me charge the total for the room at check in so I can get the 5x RC's and use them during my stay. TIA

Most hotels do not charge your card until checkout. Good thing, because if things changed, then you have to fight to get your money back.

Curious... how many RCs would that come to? If $100 a night times 5 nights times 5x comes to what?

You get 1 point per dollar spent. You get 5x rewards if you spend it at a TR resorts. So, $100 a night for five nights would be $500 x 5 = 2500 RC's. I'm not a High Roller, so not a real chance for back end comps.

I make maybe one trip a year (if I'm lucky), so I wouldn't get to use the RC's from the hotel stay if I waited until checkout to charge the room. Since they take 24-48 hours to post, if I was able to charge the whole stay on day 1, I'd be able to use the RC's on day 2 or 3.

I can answer this as far as Bally's and Flamingo are concerned. Yes, you can pay for the whole thing up front, in lieu of a somewhat confiscatory "hold" on your credit card. Last time I actually checked, they ran it through that day as one lump sum, regular charge, no hold.

I assume folks were talking about pre-paying weeks/months in advance vs at checkin.

In any event, $25 is not gonna buy much in Vegas. LOL!

the tr points earned on the Visa do not get put into your tr account until the following month (after you pay the bill-or at least the minimum payment due)

I don't think that's true. I booked my January stay on my TR Visa a few weeks ago. They charged the first night deposit and the RC's showed up online a day or two later. I only use the card for Vegas (and haven't been since last January), so the RC's couldn't have come from anywhere else.

your TR statement will tell you where the credits came from by category. you also get RC's from CET for the hotel stay, plus the credits from the credit card

Don't you need to wait for your bill to be paid at the end of the month or whenever you pay it off because you could just keep buying and returning items and collecting the RC? as long as you spent the RC before you returned the item.. sounds like a loop hole unless im missing something here

I am pretty sure that all credit card deals (casino, airline, cruise, etc) give you points based on the net purchases on your monthly bill. They do not wait for payment, as some people only pay the minimum anyways (which is their ultimate plan). When something is returned, it is a credit on that month against current purchases.

Yes, there is a SHORT TERM loophole. Any returns do not hit you until the month when it is is returned. You can get away with for one month...
