Video Poker VP at The Mirage- where are the VP dollar machines with best odds located?

Haven't been to Mirage since early July, visiting in early December. I'm a slot player but in recent trips tried my hand at VP with moderate success, so going to keep plugging away!

With all the renovations of the bars, etc, I'm guessing some of the VP machines have been relocated or changed. Anyone know where the best odds Dollar VP machines are located? Is 25 cent VP still at the front betwwen lobby entrance and the Deli area?? Any big wins there recently?

As far as I know the best $1 video poker games at the Mirage are 9/7 Double Bonus (99.11%), 9/6 DDB (98.98%) and 15-9-4-4 Deuces Wild (98.91%). vpFREE2 shows the locations within the casino for these - http://www.vpfree2.com/casino/mirage-resort-casino It looks right to me. And yes there is still some 25c video poker between the lobby and deli.

 

Those banks in front of Samba were still there when I was there 2 months ago. Decent games at the $1+ level. Played them a bit, didn't have any luck, but I was just killing some time while we were waiting for the Love show to start.

Thanks Yokel for the website - I have seen it mentioned in several posts by you VP pros, but to be honest, the one time I went to the site it seemed too complicated and time-consuming to figure out. Still having trouble with some of the terminology let alone proper strategy!
This time based on your response, I actually looked at it closely and found it has everything anyone would need for strategizing play at any casino. I've bookmarked this website as one of my new best friends in my quest to become a smarter and hopefully more successful VP player; so many variables and SO many different games to learn - for now I will stick to the basics using this website for guidance.

 

Yes VPFree2 is a very important site for finding video poker games that have the lowest house edge. If the best games are "uncommon games" where strategies aren't readily available, you can also use this resource to compute optimal strategies for many games if you know the full paytable.

This harkens back to my old telecomm days of probability and queuing theories, Gaussian and Poisson tables, etc - which I have been trying to ignore in my golden age of retirement. All I wanna do is play mindless slots, a bit of VP for fun, and spend my kid's inheritance (joking) - instead I'm being drawn back into an old passion - research and strategy - wonder which will win out....

An interesting tie in between how gambling initiated the theory of probability and the development of telephone switching systems is a good and fairly short read by: Kjell Stordahl " The history behind the probability theory and Queuing theory"
(Dating back to Pascal in the 1600's.... aka 'The Gambler's Ruin Problem).
