If you're doing dinner out in Las Vegas for Thanksgiving - time is running out to make reservations. A quick check of top-rated restaurants offering Thanksgiving dinners shows most of the tables for peak dining time (6-8 pm) are already gone.

I picked up a 2 seats for the Wifey and myself at Bazaar Meat (SLS). It's a prix fixe menu - $85 per person (drinks not included) and $75 for locals.

Good point - but my wife and I limited our search to top-rated restaurants. Having said that, we could probably argue all day (and half the night) about what "top-rated" means to me and to you. I've tried to sidestep that potential issue by only naming the restaurant chosen - and not the ones rejected. This thread was not meant to be about that.

I work for opentable so can speak with some authority on the subject.

Many restaurants will hold back a certain allotment of resos for walk ins and call ins so if you dont find anything on opentable then call the restaurant and see what they have available.

Chances are good, especially in a tourist town, then have seating still.

UTE, should I make a reservation even for a late seating? Around 9pm or so? Want to watch the Bears game which probably won't be over until 830 or (although probably much sooner for all intents and purposes).

You don't suppose there's a risk of running out of thanksgiving grub with a seating that late, do you? I'm considering center cut or Ruth Chris, both have a reasonably priced, traditional sounding dinner.

Oh and kaylynn, do you know the price per person for giada? It wasn't listed online last I checked.

Oh, man - I'll bet it'll be fabulous. Seriously consider doing a report on it for us.

I think you'll be fine with a late seating. All the top restaurants will fill up - it's the top eating-out night of the year in LV. Even the locals come in for this one. Reservations + holds + walk-ins = a full house. And, the food is planned for accordingly.

I always like to make reservations early for Thanksgiving. I have a group of 10 for Michael Mina and since that restaurant isn't huge, I made mine over a month ago even before they announced their prix fixe menu for it. :)

Not only that, but in Vegas, I've found that relatively few seats are put up on Opentable at the higher-end restaurants. Back in October, I wanted to make a 7pm reservation at Picasso; Opentable showed only 5:30pm and 8:30pm. I called, and the response was, "I'm sorry sir, we only have 6:45pm and 7:15pm" (which were totally fine).

After reading all the holiday buffet horror stories on this site, I made reservations at Mozen Bistro in the MO. They're offering an interesting fixed price meal offering a choice of entrees along with salads and desserts served buffet style.

Yeah. I've noticed the same thing fairly often - especially at the newer and/or more popular places.

I'm not saying a word to the wife about reservations....
That way I can sit at some bar for happy hour on thanksgiving like everyone should.
Last year it was $1.00 pizza slices at Maui Brewing Co. in hawaii. Best Thanksgiving ever.
    Bring on Vegas...

No idea for price of giada on thanksgiving. I thought about calling, but too much effort. I'll do my best to write a report / review

Those years when I've had to make reservations for a party of 10 or more were a real bitch. I actually had to play my noir card one year. For parties 6 and under it is much easier, but I still reserve in early October.
