    Hi guys

Looking for some help here and know how knowledgeable people here can be so here goes.

I have a 10 day trip booked next year from Mon 13th June to Thurs 23rd June and have hotels booked for the first 4 days at Harrahs and the last 3 days at The Flamingo but the problem I have is the 3 days inbetween (Fri-Sat-Sun 17-19 June), I have been checking most sites that I can think of and I can't get any cheaper than $565 downtown and $655 strip(well Rio, just off-strip).

Bear in mind I have only paid $300ish for the above 7 nights I want to try to get the other 3 nights for less than I'm being quoted, I'm wondering if there is some big Convention that weekend.

Any help pointing me in the direction of sites where I might get cheaper deals than I'm being quoted at the moment would be greatly appreciated, I'm willing to stay off strip as long as there are decent shuttle services to the strip/downtown.

I've tried MLife properties and CET and Boyd but prices are too high for my budget conscious ass.

    Many thanks

    Jimmy

EDC Las Vegas is in town. Over 140k people come in for that festival. Good luck as the dates were announced back at the end of September and the hotels bumped them up almost immediately.

I hate to say it but you are handcuffed. Black Friday and that weekend the hotels may have quick deals since it is right after Thanksgiving but I would not count on it.

I would book a room and keep looking over the next few months as the prices always get raised as the date gets closer. You may get that rare opportunity but book something sooner than later.

Being 6+ months out isn't helping the pricing of that weekend.

I would just look at the hotel websites themselves and book directly with the hotel if you want to try and get something locked in right now. As long as you book with them and the terms of the offer don't state that it's a non-refundable offer, you can always cancel a month or 2 down the road and book something cheaper.

You're stuck with the high cost of rooms that weekend. You could get creative and bus it or drive to Laughlin. You can find cheap there. You'll miss the shit show that EDC brings and see somewhere new.

Sounds like a good time to rent a car and travel somewhere based on the responses above.

I would agree that you should book something TODAY. As long as you book direct with hotel, you can cancel it later.

You didn't say whether you were opposed to staying away from the Strip and Downtown areas. South Point is showing $159, $159, and $89 for those three nights. Not "cheap", but certainly not a fortune when compared to room rates at comparable hotels in any other city in the U.S. Other "locals" properties may have rates that are even lower such as Sunset Station, Boulder Station, Sam's Town, Cannery, etc.

Silverton is showing $99, $99 and $69 for those three nights.

You flew all the way here from Scotland. Take a cheap Southwest.com flight to Reno. Or drive to California. Or down to Laughlin. Or off strip to a nice Vegas resort.

Westgate shows $123 a night for those three nights - $369 plus you have to add the resort fees.

-would agree that a room in Laughlin may be your best alternative as to price----about 11/2 hours away at most----would rent a car and drive it------also may want to consider 1 of the 3 casinos to the north in mesquite about an hour away------cost may be a bit more than those in Laughlin------if you must stay in vegas wopuld give Arizona charlies Decatur a shot, usually lower prices----

Thanks for all the replies guys, excellent suggestions and gave me a couple of places I hadn't thought of.

I should have mentioned in the OP that I don't drive(I work in a car dealership too, lol), but I think I have now narrowed it down to either Southpoint or Silverton.

Appreciate the input and looks like I will at least not have to pay crazy prices for a few days.

Thanks KPS, knew there had to be a reason rooms were so steep in price, I'm still searching for rooms but got it narrowed down, will definitely book something and keep searching closer to the time.

I looked at Tuscany which I have stayed at a couple of times and is usually pretty reasonable, even they were giving daft prices out

Yea I had a quick look there Stig as I don't mind down south strip, can play some cash poker in MB or Luxor.

I have had an idea and want to ask everyone again if I should cancel my booked rooms on CET(got great prices for 7 days) then try to book the expensive 3 days I originally asked about on offer prices(not sure how much but will be cheaper than the $500 odd I'm quoted elsewhere.

Then try to re-book the other 7 days (13-17th June and 20-23rd June) on either CET or MLife as I'm sure they won't be that pricey.

The only problem is if I cancel my bookings and cant get decent offers for the 17,18 and 19th, will my original offer prices still be there with CET?

Never booked direct with CET before so not sure if this is doable.
