Mlife Gold Tier renewed for two years without earning 75,000 TC?

So something weird happened, and I'm not quite sure how it happened. At the end of September, which is the end of the Mlife earning period, my Gold tier was set to expire as I had only earned about 65,000 tier credits from October 2014 through September 2015. I had earned my Gold status in the previous earning period of October 2013 through September 2014, which gives me status through the end of September 2015, unless I earned 70,000 or more Tier Credits. Sure enough on October 1st my Mlife account online reset to 0 Tier Credits, and my tier had been knocked back down to Pearl, as expected.

But shortly before my trip at the end of October I was checking my account to see how many Express Comps I had and I noticed my tier had been bumped back up to Gold again! I thought perhaps it was just a glitch on the Mlife website, which is known for being a little, um, glitchy.

When I got Aria during my trip I went to the Mlife desk to activate some freeplay, and I asked for a new card as the Mlife Gold card I had "expired" at the end of September. The attendant gave me my new card, and indeed it was Gold, and it showed a September 2017 expiration date!? So not only did my status miraculously reappear, but it has been renewed to 2017 as though I had already earned 70,000 Tier Credits since October 1st. Which I hadn't because I had only just checked in to my room, and I only earned a total of 17,000 Tier Credits during my whole trip.

Not that I'm complaining! But I'm really confused as to how this happened, has anybody had this experience?

I think the attendant or the system screwed up on the printing. Doubt HIGHLY that your tier had been extended an extra year.

Heck, they will surely change some rules between now and next October anyways.

I don't think there's much to get excited about with Gold. The "perks," if you can call them that, pretty much start at Platinum and you have about 200k TCs to go before you get there. And, it's really only the taxi line that's any good.

BUT, it's certainly nice to be Gold rather than Pearl! Especially with no threat of it being reduced for two years. Tier matching is the best thing about Gold. Usually MLife's Gold matches to the highest level of other player's clubs.

Didn't really help my much at Lauberge Lake Charles and while Pinnacle has an affiliation with mgm they only matched me to their 2nd tier which is pretty easy to make as my gf got it in two visits.

In Vegas I think Plaza will match it to King level which is 2nd to highest. And a couple of years ago Cosmo did matching and mlife gold for me my identity gold though I've since earned it the legit way.

I thought Royal Rewards did, but I could be wrong. Borgata in AC does. I believe Cosmo used to as well until they stopped tier matching.

Maybe I'm wrong though. I'm Platinum so I don't really pay that much attention to Gold. [emoji2]

Yeah, not a ton of perks at Gold, but really just confused as to how it happened?

Do you have Hyatt status? We get MLife Gold as a matching status to our Hyatt Platinum. Though I think we have to renew it each year manually.

I do!.... but the reason I have Hyatt Platinum status was because of my previous Mlife Gold status... Maybe I've opened some sort of status time-travel paradox?

Once you link your accounts, you should get credit within your Hyatt account for every stay/night at a Mlife property. Did you stay at a Mlife property/Hyatt hotel 5 times or 15 nights within the past year to maintain your platinum status?

Sounds like you may have, actually. Since the status expirations are staggered, with Mlife in October and Hyatt at the end of the year. Does that even make sense?

Nope, only stayed 4 times and 12 nights at Mlife in 2015. And half of those were comped.

A couple of years ago I was gold and had accumulated somewhere between 70 and 74,000 points and my gold continued for the next year. The next couple of years I made sure I got over 75K points. Gold is not a big deal but at my local casinos I get pretty good line privileges and 2 free buffets a month.
