Before long they'll rename downtown to the "Derek Stevens Experience". But I can't complain, I love what he's done with The D and Golden Gate. It's gotten me and my gf interested in downtown.

They're making their own little empire downtown. Can't wait to see what other changes they make.

Can't agree more. I liked the G Gate before the D stevens era, and still like it despite what hes done. Hes keeping the thrifty and classic spirit of downtown, but with a modern twist. Can't wait to see what he does with the LVC.

Yeah, I'll take a look when I'm there next week, but I doubt that he's started anything yet there. Just wish their company was public. :)

I do like what he's done with The D and Golden Gate. I've stayed in The D suites a few times now and really like them. I would like to possibly see a more upmarket product at LVC. Perhaps something to compete with the Nugget. Other than the Nugget, the suites at The D are really the only rooms I care for downtown.

I like your idea Cooler, of a bit more upmarket product to provide something similar to the Nugget. Downtown's ready for it.

The Grand tried to provide it with their launch but unfortunately they offered the same thing or less than every other casino downtown AND you had to go off the beaten track to find it. The El Cortez is in the same boat but has learned to make up for it by having great offers.

The Las Vegas Club has location going for it. With the Steven's owning 3 casinos on Fremont makes a marketing bonanza. I'm looking forward to see what they do.

So far, the Steven's brothers have hit the mark when figuring out the demographic they're aiming for. I look forward to see what they come up with next.

Just got back. I was surprised that they haven't done anything with the location yet. I wasn't expecting it to be totally different, but they haven't even taken down the signs yet. But, they have put up ad's for GG and The D over the doors.

^^ Some would call that an improvement right there. :)

Honestly, I will miss the LV Club for the nostalgia but am looking forward to this.

    Thanks for the update FullBoat.

I would rather they not make the LVC a fancy place. They didnt with the D or GG and people seem to love them. Why price most people out?

Having the golden nugget where it is and what it is basically caps the rooms prices downtown . If they build more fancy rooms then that higher end price will increase. Once that happens the lower end rooms will increase incrementally as well.

i see no need to do that, We have that already on the strip.

They simply arent going to attract a young, hip daddys credit card crowd so why bother? Stick with what is filling the coffers now. A decent place with affordable food and rooms and the place will fill up.
