    My Trip Report

Well...it's about time! 40 hours before our flight. A recent thread asked the question why do we do TRs? I'm doing this TR to move from voyeur status, looking and living through others, to that of contributor...and it feels good, feels right.I realize that there's little that hasn't been done or said already that can be deemed original on this forum. Doesn't matter. What matters most to me about everyone's TR is that you made the effort to let us see Vegas through your eyes. Superpocky, Natedogg, Beeejay, Vegas Chic, Packer, Joe and the many, many others...far too many to name, we all know who you are and thank you! :nworthy: Whether live, semi-live or a trip summary, again, we thank you! Here's my effort:

5th overall trip, 2 solo, third with Mrs. LV and first with VMB wristbands! Thanks Sonya! My mission, and I've chosen to accept it, is to "babysit" another couple on their maiden Vegas voyage. The expectations on their part are that since we've done this before they are fine doing whatever we do. No pressure right? Not cool! :nono: :nono: . I'm using an MGM 3 night comp for them with some RC and my host hooked up extra show tix. I'll use the FP as I'm not sure how degenerate they are just yet. I intend to be a good influence though :evillaugh.

The wife and I have our own plans. Not much R & R, but certainly a lot of D & D (debauchery & degeneracy) :wink2:. She enjoys slots and will Crap with me this trip . Me, BJ with good rules is my preference, craps as was mentioned previously and VP. We can be classified more as low-rollers, but I have been known to extend the BR significantly. I'll try to keep to $2 K and hope the chip gods are generous. We have a rental car and will do a concert downtown, CDS show and maybe Red Rock Canyon and Hoover Dam for the newbies as possibilities. The weight of helping them have fun is more than I want, but we have somewhat of a responsibility to show Vegas in a favorable light as a town with so much to offer for their vacation dollar. Besides, I had a Vegas "mentor" on my virgin trip and was grateful to shown the many ways Vegas coulkd be done. It's time for me to pay it forward. More will be revealed later. Thanks in advance for following along.

Days late and many dollars short. What I planned as a live, even semi-live TR failed miserably. I really respect the discipline it takes and commitment to the cause to write a trip report. This was to be my rookie trip report and I handled it just like a rookie.
Okay, I'll put away the baseball bat, take it easy on myself and pick up the keyboard and share with the board what I do remember about my Halloween weekend excursion.
The flight from RDU to LAX was uneventful. I mean some bumpiness but that's to be expected from my experience. Lax to McCarran was the same. There's something about stepping off the plane into paradise that still sends chills down my spine.

Walking past the airport slots gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling because I know degeneracy is moments away! Does the degenerate thought itself enough to make the degen? Hmm...

Proceeded to check at Bally's. Got a Jubilee King with a great view of Paris, Cosmo and Bellagio.

I've studied the input, opinions and advice of the many VMB members and was torn as should I risk the noise that comes with a Jubilee room. Except for some very early morning construction noise at Bally's, no club music was heard. Maybe it helped that Mrs. LV and I were there Tuesday- Friday morning. I could see club and pool activity at Paris next door, but noise was not a problem.
