Video Poker Finally popped my VP Royal cherry!

While playing at one of my locals tonight, I finally made my first VP Royal Flush! This was on a 3-line 50cent STP DDB machine at Pala.



I'm still a VP newbie who makes tons of mistakes, but I felt holding four to a Royal was a no-brainer...lol. Where's the multiplier when you need it!? Lol! I can finally sleep now.


I actually almost got discouraged when another player moved to the UltimateX machine next to me, earlier in the session. After a few hands he got dealt a Royal with a 4x multiplier. This was his first Royal as well! Here is a pic of his Royal. I like his much better!

But that was seriously his FIRST Royal? Sick life.

My first royal was for $40. My 2nd royal was dealt at Flamingo for 6 x $40. I still haven't got a spade royal myself.

I had an interesting night myself. Randomly bumped into a Wizard of Vegas member. While walking around and chatting with him, saw 4 dealt Aces on 5 play nickel UX, a 50 cent Royal at STP within about a minute. Then later I saw 3's with a kicker dealt on nickels with 6X per line at "Barnyard Poker".

Unfortunately the good luck didn't go to me..lol Aces on 35/8/5 Bonus (99.66%) for 175 quarters tonight...meh

I got a couple deuces with kickers earlier in the day, at my local Harrah's...





I also had a dealt full house...Aces over Kings. I debated for a few minutes on what to do...ended up holding the Aces and ditched the Kings. Sadly, no 4th Ace showed up. I'm not sure if that was a mistake...definitely felt like it after the fact...lol.

 

Looks like you had a day to help addict you to STP...:evillaugh

And in DDB, breaking a full house with AAA is easily the correct play (it's even correct in 6/5 Bonus Poker!). I've never converted it though even though I've had quite a few draws at it (at least 10). And I never converted breaking two pair with Aces in DDB until this year, which I did twice in about a month! :confused2:

Lol...you have to play STP or Double STP. I took a break from STP yesterday and went to a single line $5 DDB machine and got bored to death...and blew $500 on it with quickness. Went back to the multiline STP and had a blast...even though it was at 50cent denom.

I read up on DDB strategy last night and realized I have been playing half my hands wrong...lol. Thankfully, I have been hitting premium hands before investing too much each session. I guess that makes me one lucky ducky...lol. Watch, once I learn proper strategy, the cold streak will set in.
