From the posts I read sounds like the GN Rush Tower Rooms are superior to the Gold Tower Rooms BUTTTTT you can only get a king size bed in the Rush? Do I have that right? So they built an entire tower and only put king size beds in it ???? I don't get it ?

I've always gone Downtown with my wife but finally talked an old friend, my one and only Best Man, into giving it a try. He's always talked the Downtown down compared to the strip even though he's never tried it, so I want to have a strip like room for the 3 nights we'll be there. Plus, we're both pushing 60. I can ruff it, but he needs a comfortable bed due to back problems and does not want to walk far. Thought we would just split one of the nicer rooms at the Nugget, but NO WAY with one bed. How do they advertise up to 4 people in the room?

I've stayed in the Rush Tower rooms numerous times and have only had a single king sized bed. Great rooms. Here's the number for the GN, they are very helpful: 800-634-3454

Within the past year or so they've made available the "Rush Tower Gold Club" rooms, some of which have two beds. But I think they are around $50 per night more than the standard Rush Tower room.

They also fairly recently renovated the Gold Tower rooms (which have two-bed availability) to the Rush Tower-motif, but the rooms still have the smallish bathroom (if that's important) as the standard Carson Tower rooms. Closer to the casino though.

Went to GN web site and looked under Gold Rush Club Rooms. Clicked on details about room. Did not see anything about having only 1 bed although picture showed a king. Then clicked to reserve room just to see what choices were for bed type. Did not give a choice for beds. Guess I'll have to call before our spring trip to find out, but I'm still amazed at all the room types they had only listing a king size bed.

I also notice that the few rooms they had listed with 2 beds were more than the same room with a king size bed. What the H??? Soon they will institute a double resort fee for 2 beds. They must be giving the extra money to the house keepers for making the extra bed. Nice of them.

Most newer casino developments don't have a lot of rooms with 2 beds because folks who typically (but not always) use them aren't big spenders. Most folks who want two beds are conserving money or have kids. Neither of those are demographics casinos get excited about. That's why those rooms are in short supply and they charge a premium for them.
