has anyone been to the new lavo casino club on a saturday night? Looking for a review of the place, was it popping like a club or more dead like a lounge? I'm thinking about getting bottle service Nov 7th but am afraid its going to be dead and empty. Was there a lot of gambling going on or was it mostly drinking and partying.
My husband and I went last weekend. The lounge area takes up about 2/3 of the area. I did not notice any dance floor area, but there was a good DJ playing. Bottle service tables everywhere. The other 1/3 of LCC is comprised of an elevated gambling area, with 4-5 blackjack tables and 1 craps table. I had bought one of their packages that include bottle service, and they placed us up on the gambling level. It was fun to not have to stand around, and it was a fun atmosphere to gamble. Table limits ranged from $15-25. At one point there was a higher roller playing and they up'ed that limit to $50/hand while he played alone. The food was Lavo menu and you could either dine downstairs first and then come to table upstairs, or have food served upstairs. We came later in the night (11pm), so opted to eat and drink upstairs. We are in our later 40's and over the club scene, but still looking for a fun night out. I really enjoyed it here. But, I kinda knew what was coming. My husband warmed up after a while, and enjoyed himself too...after he won a good amount of $$ at BJ.
I'm back from a trip, and I wanted to report an update. I'm kind of pissed off at myself for not having enough time to take pictures of the place but maybe next time. This club is small and intimate, I came in around 10pm on a saturday night and it will mostly filled out with people eating at the tables and my 30% of those tables doing actual bottle service. The place has little to no dance floor. The place was filled with people when I went, but by no means was it stuffed like sardines like some clubs. There was a shoe game for blackjack that paid 3:2 hit on soft 17 the table min was $100. lower min games both shoe and double deck were 6:5 blackjack, 3-4 people playing per table when I got there, and the craps table was packed. Looks like a nice spot to gamble, but I was with a group that preferred tao. The great thing was no cover to get in and not really a line either, and with the stamp we were able to get into tao for free too....not sure if this is for every weekend. I was looking forward to trying their high end cocktails, and while i didn't have a drink, I didn't see anyone with any unique for fancy looking cocktails. They all looked like well drinks if you asked me. I didn't try the food but that looks pretty good too.
Does anyone know if this is open weekday nights and what are the mins on the Craps table? Not really a club guy, but it might be fun to gamble and take in the eye candy as they get ready for Tao.
