I've visited JW in july. It's really out of the way of, well... everything ;)

There's a lot of cheap gambling: 25 cent roulette, $1 craps, $3 BJ.
But I wasn't really impressed by the casino or the neighborhood. If you have a car and are close to JW, you can always check it out. But I wouldn't drive 20+ minutes to visit the place.
I thought it was just: meh.

I have been there several times for cheap gambling. There are often cheesy lounge bands playing. It is a break in joint for Boyd dealers. Most of them seem to have about 2 weeks dealing experience. We go there out of tradition. Not much use going there for a first time.

We stopped in last week. Played a little low limit. It's ok I guess. Boyd card doesn't work and I didn't want to stand in line for a card so didn't play much. I agree with LinLV meh.

Do they have "logo" $1 chips with their name on it? I collect chips but never visited the place.

Everything said so far is accurate. That said I sometimes stop out if we have a car, just something about being able to say I made it out to Jokers Wild again.

One plus is you can generally park about 50 feet from the door, it's a local crowd but not to rough. Decent VP and black jack, and the cafe has good food at a very reasonable price. I wouldn't go out of my way, but if we're driving nearby we'll stop again.

What neighborhood? It's in the middle of nowhere.

But my wife and i shlep out to Jokers every trip to vegas, mainly because $1 craps is the only game she plays, and we can play for as long as we care to without ever really worrying about running out of money. Also the coffee shop isn't bad at all.

Here is an enthusiastic review on a rival platform.

    Enjoy!

been there a couple of times.

the last time was during my september trip. we took a spin around the city late one weeknight in our rental BMW convertible and ended up heading out to JW. as noted, a good place to low roll. i wouldn't say it's worth driving out to just for $1 craps, but if you want to say you played the game for a buck, this is your place.

drawback to going on a weeknight after 11 p.m., the place is dead (just like skyline was). it's practically empty. a couple of people were playing craps, and i was going to join them, and they told me that the table was about to close. (it was just before midnight.)

the first time i went i wanted a souvenir t-shirt. i wanted something with the JW logo, other than a chip or matchbook. (perhaps i should sign up for that player's card). silly me, thinking there'd be a gift shop at JW.

Good Nachos and cheap gambling.....the crap dealers often have no clue.

Is Joker's Wild dumpier than Jerry's Nugget? The Nugget is ALSO in a very crappy neighborhood..

If this is something you are concerned about and are trying to avoid, it may not be the place for you.
Jerry's Nugget is in an actual neighborhood that has neighbors, whereas Jokers is pretty much by itself along an otherwise unpopulated highway. I think its nearest neighbor is some kind of cement factory about a half mile away.
