Anyone know when carbone is going to open up? For a fall opening I would have thought it would be opening or details pretty soon.

Also any more details on the so called platinum lounge?

There is another thread going on right now about the lounge. When I walked past last week, the construction walls were still in place. I asked my host (back in August) about Carbone and she told me it is expected to open in December

Anyone know what the plan for the space that HAZE used to occupy? Seems like Aria is in a transition phase right now.

...I'm curious about when Herringbone is opening as well. Should be about the same time I would think.

Carbone looks like it's in pretty decent shape from the exterior; they've taken down the construction walls, and the bartenders I was talking to were saying that it might be sooner. December seems like a long ways off, especially since Herringbone still has its walls up.

Also, I was told by the bartenders that the replacement for Deuce is coming fairly shortly. It sounded like it's going to be another relatively nondescript bar/lounge, though if I had to guess, it'd be a bit more nightlife-oriented than Lift Bar and Alibi, given the closure of Gold Lounge.

There is an article about the opening in the Las Vegas Sun online. It is a Q&A with Jeff Zalaznick, one of the parnters of Carbone. I can't find a menu for the Vegas venue online.

What I'm hoping is that they don't just duplicate the Carbone menu from New York, but also borrow from their other properties a little. Some of the appetizers from Parm are fantastic (or at least used to be, before they took the warm mozzarella and the good garlic bread off the menu), as is the baked ziti, and I'm still upset I never made it to the Torrisi tasting menu.

That's just about how it looked last weekend, except without the neon sign yet.

EDIT: Also, good on them for adopting the neon from the NYC location. The old Rocco space was truly a landmark.

I have to say, the one disappointment in the menu is that it's almost an exact duplicate of the New York menu. I was really hoping they'd add in the chicken parm which they did so well at Parm. That prosciutto and mozzarella appetizer is going to be fantastic, though; they make the mozzarella in-house and it's so, so good. And anything tableside is going to be great.
