Has anyone considered attempting this? We like to visit as many as we can, but our time in Vegas is far too limited to trawl around for hours ;)

How many are there? Must be hundreds.. even if you exclude all the random supermarkets that just happen to have a few video poker machines.

I wonder if you can get a list from anywhere? Plus new ones open and old ones close all the time.

I think we have visited most of them on the strip, even down as far as M Resort, and South Point. Are there any between The STRAT and Downtown? We have visited all the casinos adjacent to Fremont Street, but none further afield there.

Next on our list to visit though - Eastside Cannery (no particular reason) and Ellis Island (Always meant to go, somehow never gotten around to it)

I've been to most if not all of the Major Strip Casinos. There may be a few dives left over from the old school days I've missed along the way.
There are some places that I'd like to go back to that I haven't visited in a long time like maybe a few downtown. Others I do not care to visit.
Such as; the older ones that look too scary or dirty. And being a Strip Snob I only stay on the Strip. Have you gone out to Red Rock? It's a nice drive.

There are many "Slot Parlors" and "VP rooms" all over the place in outlying strip malls and such. I would be afraid to go in those places. They are small, the size of a 7-11 bldg.

I often wonder what happens when one wins a huge jackpot there. Do they pay you or do you end up in a hole in the desert somewhere? :evillaugh:poke:

Along time ago I went to many of the casinos to get their player's card. I still have player's cards from well over forty different casinos on the strip and surrounding areas and downtown. Then the MGM casinos started their One Club and Caesars casinos had Park Place. Boyd soon followed suit.

There are a lot of things people do that others have no interest in doing. They just want to do it. Like those that want to visit every ballpark in the MLB. Or those that want to visit every state in the US. It's not for a "trophy." It's for their own satisfaction.

I tried to hit as many as possible on my earlier trips.
Now last 2 trips at Aria , I never stepped outside to the strip the entire trip.

I always make it a point to visit, if only briefly, all newly-opened casinos. I don't count places that call themselves "Casino" such as Dotty's and the like, but the usual ones.

Over the year (since the 1970s, actually) there are only a few I've never been in. I think the only ones I haven't been in are Aztec Inn and Eureka. LOL. no real desire to visit either. :)

During our first few trips we tried to do the same thing: see all of the casinos. LIttle did we know at the time that they open and close so frequently. We even rented a car a couple of times to go to some of the outlying casinos to play coupons and such. Some were in pretty sketchy neighborhoods. At a couple we were followed by vagrants from the minute we came out of the casino until we got in our car. Looking back, most of these outlying casinos (even the nicer ones) made no big impression, because we didn't allow ourselves to see their finer points. We just went in, played X amount of dollars, picked up a chip and moved on.

We've been to Vegas 25 times now and I still have casinos on my list to visit (Sams, Orleans, to name a couple). So, my advice is that if you're going to take the time to go way out to see some of these non-Strip, non-Downtown casinos, take enough time to take them all in. Every trip add a few new ones to the list. It keeps making the trip fun to see new things.

Over the years, I think I've made it to all the casinos that are big enough to have table games. I also don't count the little slot parlors. Funny you mentioned the Aztec. In 1999 or 2000, back when there was no wifi and really no portable computers, the Aztec had really cheap internet access. We went about 10 in the morning for me to do something (I have no idea what, anymore), and my wife sat down at a nickel machine to have something to do while I was online. I heard her scream even before I'd managed to log in - she had won a $400 jackpot. I was finished with my on line activity before a floor person came over and handed her the cash. The machine apparently didn't have that many nickels! To this day, the Aztec is the only casino where I'm/we're still ahead of the house!

On our first trip back in 1995, my wife and I did 'coin cup runs'... each day we would go into different casinos on the strip and 'collect' one of their coin cups. I think by the end of the week we had 30 or so cups... (we asked at a few casinos and each said they didn't mind you taking them - advertisement)... Unfortunately, over the years, most of them got brittle and the plastic crumbled, but we still have 5 or 6 intact, including the Stardust and Westward Ho.

I'm into casino chips so I do try to visit all the casinos that have their own casino chips. I usually pick up a few $1 chips.

If you want to visit casinos I would recommend taking it one quadrant at a time. On one trip for one day you can go down boulder highway and hit all the casinos in that area (Boulder Station, sam's, eastside cannery, longhorn?, etc. etc.). On another you can hit the summerlin area, on another you can hit the Henderson area. As others have mentioned there are sites which list all the casinos in vegas.

I'm kind of glad that I did visit some places as some casinos are no longer there. I visited lake las vegas when there was the monte lago casino, picked up a number of chips. While I was there during the day the place was practically empty so I'm not surprised to hear that they closed down.

I see a lot of "Dotty's" but I never had the urge to visit them. A couple of years ago I did drive up to mesquite and visited the Eureka casino. There were some other casinos in the area (Casablanca) but I also wanted to check out the golf courses in the area. It was on one of my jaunts and I also visited the Valley of Fire (heh heh, stopped off at that store at the intersection that goes to the VOF to check out their fireworks) and drove back the long route that goes near lake mead.

That was one of the reasons I didn't pick up those plastic buckets, I've had a number of plastic cups crumble so I knew it would only be a matter of time before they all fall apart. I was lucky to pick up a number of $1 chips from the 'dust and the Ho before they closed down so at least I have something from those casinos.

It's nice having the few buckets that are still intact....Since then, I've moved over to collecting chips as well. I was coincidentally in Vegas the day that the Westward Ho closed, so I too collected a handful of .50 chips, along with a few $1 and a $5. I have a collection of 120+ chips from casinos across the country.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one then! We like exploring, although coming from the UK everything is different and even mundane things to a local can be interesting to us.

And you never know what you'll find. Last time we went out west to the Santa Fe - and we liked it so much we're taking a holiday within our holiday to stay there for a night this time.

Actually I must stand corrected. I'm sure there are a few in North Las Vegas which I've never visited, ditto with those in the "Hender-Tucky" area.

We are all over the city mixing business with vacation and have stopped at a LOT of casinos but have never tried every one. We like to walk thru, play a few bucks then go about our business. We are out to bolder highway almost every trip and get sucked into going into Sams Town and losing so fast that we get disgusted and leave. lol.
Believe it or not we like Arizona Charlie's. I think quite a few seniors make it their home because we are usually the youngest there but we usually get to play for a while and leave smiling.

On my first trip here I didn't gamble. I was in the USAF and a Senior Master Sergeant who worked for me talked me into walking the Strip one night and DT the next. He collected a matchbook from each casino in both locales. I got a few too and still have them. It was only late that I started visiting the off strip places like Sunset Station, Green Valley Ranch, etc. Still I have never been to Jokers Wild and a few in that category.
