We are so excited. I've been soaking up all the knowledge on this forum today. I've gotten a bunch of my questions answered. So, I'm here, lurking. We're staying at MGM Grand. We are going to see O and we have reservations at Gordon Ramsay's Steak House. Other than that, I'm researching our best options. We'll be there a week, but we'll really only have two full days to explore, because, business. I have to get to the Stratosphere & NYNY for the thrills & coaster. It looks like the Venetian is a nice place to visit as well. And, some gambling - not a lot.
Have a great time! I've put The STRAT rides on my bucket list, but everyone I've gone to Vegas with won't even consider going. Oh, well...guess it's time to go solo. Would love to read a re-cap of your trip and a report on the rides
You'll have a great time. I'm taking my BFF of 35 years this weekend and she's never been to Vegas. To me it's like taking a kid to Disney World for the first time. I'm not sure who is more excited - her or ME!
I get it - we're in Florida and have had many chances to take peeps to DW for the first time. It's a blast! What are the "must dos" for this weekend with the first timer?
I just want to warn you that that coaster is REALLY jerky. I went on it with my son once...and it made me so sick I was in the room for the rest of the night. Just a heads up. I like roller coasters, too.
We are going back for our second trip. We are going to head to the Strat for happy hour drinks and watch the sun go down and then shuffle over to Fremont St. I highly recommend Fremont St if you have time. The bus takes you right there.
Enjoy your trip but be advised that while the meal and service at GR's are great, it will probably be the loudest steak house you have ever been in...it is not one for a romantic dinner! Still a terrific experience.
Taking her downtown, also to see Love, mon ami gabi, legends in concert, Carlos bakery cannolis, teach her blackjack, hash house a go go, Bellagio fountains, pool time and trying to get her into every hotel I can so she can experience all the good stuff!
Welcome to VMB! Have a fun trip! MGM Grand was home base for my first trip to Vegas. Immerse yourself in the crowds and have a blast. It's a great place to people-watch in between the gambling. -Richard
