Just curious on how a casino rates ones play in relation to the comps and offers given . Is it all based on the amount that you buy in with or does the pit boss periodically check the amounts you are betting?

it has nothing to do with the amount you buy in unless you're into 6 figures.

they only track that to keep their rack straight.

it has everything to do with time played and amount bet.

yes, the pit boss should be periodically checking the amount you are betting.

however, know that at low limit tables, the pit boss often has several tables to cover and isn't paying a lot of attention.

so in many cases he just writes down your initial bet amount and never comes back to check.

if you vary your bet a lot, it's best to have a chat with him when you're finished playing to see what he has you down for.

if you start small and press and he has you down for the min, you can often let him know he missed some much bigger bets and often the dealer with verify and he will raise it.

it makes a huge difference for comps to get the correct rating.

There are lots of twists and turns, in the end it is tied to how much money you put in play.

Casinos know that they will get a percent of every dollar you bet. They get nothing of your front money, buyin money or line of credit.

Over the long run, they get xx% of every bet. Slots, BJ, Craps, etc. Percent of money bet.

As to how much bet will get how much comps... good luck with that. Scan down through the posts from the last month and you will get many explanations. Some are very close, some are, well....

also alot of times if your playing at a full table and the minium is 10 or 15$ thats what they wind up putting down as your avarerage, its just easier for them, they have to much to deal with

also u might bust out before they even get ur card in the sytem to be rated at a low level table

I also recommend this for craps regardless of whether you're varying your bets. Not only does the boxman not always accurately catch when you're pressing, when you're making additional bets, etc. (for example, I start off with the pass line and the 6/8, but I'll often start tossing out additional bets as I warm up), but I've found that just talking to them can frequently result in a higher rating, sometimes even above what you were actually betting.

Table game comps is one of the last areas in a casino where the human influence is still large and sometimes unpredictable. A friendly pit boss can do more for your comps than a host.

This makes a lot of sense now to me because I always seem to get rated lower than a friend of mine at BJ. We both buy-in for $500 but he starts with $50 bets and never varies them while I usually start at $25 and take it up to $200 depending on the flow of the game. If they only look at the initial bet then I appear to be a smaller bettor when in reality I bet much more over the session.

    Thanks

I am very interested to know how casinos rate craps players , because I played the same way all the times , sometimes I got much higher reward points , or lower points depends on the pits person who track my play , I bought in about 5- 7 hundreds each times , put 5 or 10 on the pass line , after point was established , place 6 or 12 dollars each on 6 and 8 . After 6 or 8 was hit each time , I would tell dealer to go up one unit . A lot times my 6 and 8 has 30 or 36 dollars each . I am wondering how casino know what my average is . Do they also count the odds ? I think a lot have to do with how much this casino wanted your business . for example , casino A is busy all the times because of its location about 10-15 miles closer to a big city than casino B . Often I felt I was just average or small player at Casino A , when I asked for a free buffet , 7 times out of 10 I was denied . But at casino B , I always get a free buffet when I ask .

I did notice ar the Cal and MSS they have a touch screen computer and every bet, dice roll. etc is put into the computer so even though I start with $5 on the pass line all my other bets are tracked and I actually get points for every dice roll. I know this as I only lost $400 last month at the tables but was tracked with over 12,000 points.

I have heard that some places don't calculate in the odds at Craps.

Does sports betting get you any rating or comps? I probably should know this but don't.

Not unless you are regularly making fairly large bets. I forget the exact number for CET, but I think you need to wager at least several hundred dollars to earn one tier credit. By comparison, $5 in a slot earns one TC.

So unless you are frequently placing five figure wagers, I wouldn't count on any comps from the sportsbook besides drink tickets.

I've found the pit boss rating you is a bit more generous when he/she sees you tipping the crew or making bets for them. I may toss a two-way bet at the craps table or put a dealer bet at the blackjack table if the pit boss is watching or chatting with my table. Seems like this has gotten me a little extra leeway in rating, after post-session discussions I've had with a few of the pit bosses (just asking about how they booked my play in their computer).
