    I. Is this promotion is still running and what the rebate schedule is for out-of-towners?
II. Anyone know the odds of hitting top prize on a 25c slot machine (1 in 10,000, 1 in 100,000, etc.) for Las Vegas in general?

    Thanks!

The promo is still running. We are using it right now. There is nothing different between locals and out of towners. You sign up day 1. All losses between 100 and 500 in a 24hr period are rebated as free play - 50% day 2 and 50% day 3. No idea on slot machine odds.

Thank you. This may be worth doing. I'm going to write a sim and post some data for those interested.

10000 sessions with $500 BR to start, stop on jackpot and play through any FP. Game returns about 92% (quarter machine). Figures in dollars.

    median: 448.00
    25%ile: 354
    75%ile: 575
    mean: 623.35
    skewness: 5.08371429

    Not worth it for me.

Oh now I'm really tilted that I wasn't aware of this in my august trip. [emoji35]

    Would have definitely done this.

And your numbers spinnette. Up $123 on average and still not worth the time?

Also, your numbers go up if you play higher limit slots in the attempt to lose the money or win big (and also takes less time). I probably play dollars at the minimum before the loss reimbursement. Some churn could be good though for a future offer or two. VP if it was allowed of course, but I don't think it is.

Stop on jackpot is also likely not optimal.

Wizard of Odds did a breakdown of this, and it involves having a certain win goal (that is usually less than your buy in). You don't play until a jackpot. You play until your win goal is hit or you go bust.

Then assuming you are maxing out expectations, you play a low variance game with the free play if you lost.

    Is this new?
I remember a few years back, they did a "$100 on us" promo...and I took advantage of that...but if I can go back and do this $500 one, that'd be great.

The problem is Plaza's free play is not worth much at all.
True, you can play on any machine to qualify for the $500 loss.
But the $500 (2x$250) free play they give you, you can only play at very few specified machines
(those with a stick saying "Free Play"), and those machines really suck.

We didn't have a problem with finding machines for free play. Most all the machines are eligible except for any progressive machines. Because of the rebate, the four of us low rollers all walked away winners after playing the three days.

How long is the free play good for? If we do it one day in Oct, can we come back 6 months later and get the free play?

Like the old casino Royale machines? Like would be illegal if they accepted real money machines?

If I could play ~95% slots or VP, I'd be good.

Similar problem at the Cortez. Took a grand out of their ATM to get the 5% free play but could only use it on certain machines with a green sticker as I recall. Mostly old boring machines and no good poker unless I missed the stickers. Couldn't wait to get out of there. Used to be a fun place years ago until they tried to upscale the place. Just my opinion.

We allow Free Play to be redeemed on EVERY slot machine except for WAP Wide Area Progressives. Previously you could not redeem free slot play on Video Poker however we fixed that and all the video poker at the Race and sports bar accepts it now.

Good to know. This unfortunately would take a lot of the TV show themed slots out of play as I believe most of those are wap

I'll probably take advantage of this in 2 weeks. If I understand correctly from the above post that I can do it on the bartop VP.

    "losses between 100 and 500 in a 24hr period are rebated as free play - 50% day 2 and 50% day 3"

    This is still unclear.

Is it midnight-midnight? So I arrive Friday and lose 500 at 5pm. Sat and Sun at 12am I'll have 250 freeplay? Or when?

For us the "day" started when we signed up and ended 24 hours later. So from your example your first "day" would be 5pm Friday till 5pm Saturday.
