My wife and I got passports last year. We have spent some time at Fallsview. I enjoy the casino, but I have not had a major win. We have seen 3 shows for free. We saw "Return to Grace", a show with an Elvis imitator. Every show has been enjoyable. Next Monday we are seeing "Legends in Concert". We saw the Vegas version several years ago. The exchange rate gives us more money for gambling. The major drawback to Fallsview is the lack of free alcoholic drinks.
Crossing the border has been hassle-free. The drive along the Niagara River after crossing the Peace Bridge is very pleasant.

My wife and I will be at Fallsview Oct 22 to see Robert Davi and at Seneca Oct 24.

With the exchange rate the drinks are very close to being free for you. :)

    Good Luck

Fallsview is my local, living about 15 minutes away. It is a nice casino and the lack of drinks is a minor pita as most of the time I am driving and shelling out for a couple drinks max over an evening is really no big deal. They have some decent headliners once in a while. Seneca, across the river seems to have more entertainers I am into than Fallsview. The drive past Niagara Falls north to Niagara-on-the-Lake along the parkway is very nice as you are the heart of wine country and where we live. Next time take that drive and cross the river at Queenston/Lewiston then head south back to Buf. Lewiston is a nice little town as well. That border crossing tends to be a little busier than the others with limited Nexus as well.

I have visited Fallsview twice and had the buffet, the room overlooks the falls. With the current exchange rate, it's a real bargain. There is a Quality Inn across the street that is pretty decent, I won it last October for $41 through Priceline. The best deal in Duty Free was a liter of Plymouth Gin for around $16. And speaking of Gin, there is a little micro distillery up the lake in Beamsville, it would be worth a visit if passing by.

I live in Toronto, which is about an hour drive from Niagara. I used to go monthly and stay at the four points sheridan. It's connected to the casino, which is a huge plus, and you can park in the casino for free as long as you're gambling ($5-$10 if you're not). Often on the website you will find $89-$119 (based on day of week / time of year) for a package of one room (I've even had a king jacuzzi room), $25 in casino play and $50-$100 in food vouchers (for places like East Side Marios, iHop and Outback Steakhouse). Basically the room is free if you take advantage of all the offers, which I always did.

I don't go anymore because I save 100% of my gambling budget for Vegas (minus the random trips every 3-4 months to the local racetrack slots), but when I did go to Niagara I always really enjoyed it and loved staying at the Four Points.

Funny this is posted, last weekend my wife said we should get passports and go up. Girls at her work were talking about the exchange, we've been there a few times but stopped going when the rate changed, then we got hooked on Vegas.

Another option for some sates and provinces is the enhanced drivers license for those who don't want/need a passport or want something in addition to their passport. It allows for land crossings between US and Canada without a passport. Nice to have just in case one forgets to bring their passport. I assume it is cheaper and quicker to get than passport???? Of course nothing beats NEXUS which has had numerous posts on here.

FYI to the border crossers. Be aware of Buffalo Bills home games when making travel plans. You do not want to be trying to cross the border amidst that traffic.
