Straight up which do you prefer? Mandalay Bay or MGM Grand.

My thoughts are to use a MyVegas reward, for a one night stay during the SEMA convention in November.

    Pro's/ Con's - give me what you've got!

    Hi.
Do you like it a little more quiet? Use MB.

Do you need to get to Sema that day? If so the monorail is at MGM. If you don't care about getting to SEMA I prefer MB a lot more then MGM.

For one night I'd go MGM... Much better location and easier to get around.

its against Myvegas policy to use a comp room for a convention.

Straight Up - Mandalay Bay by a long shot.

The only thing I like in MGM is the Sports Book, which MB has a very nice SB as well.

IMO, MB has many more and superior restaurant choices

MGM is always way more crowded than MB, and for 1 night, I wouldn't want to be climbing over people to get around and/or to play a game

Ill be traveling solo, this doesn't matter I suppose.

Yes I will be attending SEMA. My thoughts were to get a 3-day monorail pass, so that I can hop on @ the convention center and explore if I want too.

Looking at a map, I would agree. My buddy is staying at Circus Circus (He does every year) for cost, proximity to the convention center and the ability to park a trailer there.

The convention is not at an MGM property.
Per the VMB sticky, I was able to check both properties dates.

    MGM would be Thursday.

MB would be Wednesday or Thursday.

Good notes on the sports book. I need to lay down a bet for the Patriots to win the Super Bowl again!!

Time to go create a pro/con list.
    Thanks for the feedback!

Mandalay Bay vs. MGM Grand - Pros/ Cons
    1 night only - November 4th or 5th

    Mandalay Bay – PRO
    Deluxe Room
    Thursday availability
Potential Delano upgrade @ check in with the $20 tip.
    Quieter.
    Free wifi.
    2 drink vouchers.
    Great pool. (So I’ve read.)

    Mandalay Bay – CON
More expensive LP’s redemption than MGM.
    End of the strip.
Too many recent bedbug reports on TripAdvisor.
    Further from monorail.

    MGM Grand – PRO
    Wednesday or Thursday availability.
    Connected to monorail.
    Cheaper LP’s redemption than MB.
    Closer to middle of strip.
Bigger property – potential to be upgraded @ check in with the $20 tip.
    Free wifi.

    MGM Grand – CON
West Wing King (Small, open concept bathroom, further from everything on property.)
    Crowded property.

If it weren’t for the West Wing King I would book today. Am I over thinking this?
