Planning on a trip to Vegas and going to be staying primarily downtown. When I take my wife to Vegas we like to play Megabucks each day just for the chance of hitting "the big one." I don't remember seeing any in the casinos downtown and have only played them on the strip. Has anyone seen any downtown? Thanks.

    Here's another...

    http://www.igtjackpots.com/games/megabucks-in-nevada.aspx
When you click the Locator link, Enter Las Vegas. Las Vegas, NV comes up twice. The first entry is downtown, the second entry lists the strip.

Megabucks is pretty much a standard offering. I know I saw a bank of them (penny denomination) at The Fremont, located near the BConnected slot club counter, when I was there Labor Day weekend.

I am sure it is far from totally accurate. Google will probably find a few more lists. But in general, it looks like lots of locations.

I can't think of a place downtown that DOESN'T have it.

Yes. they're all over the place. Enter the Fremont Hotel after crossing Casino Center. Take the first entrance....look straight ahead...MEGABUCKS!!!

At the Cal, head toward the Bconnected player club and look left....MEGABUCKS!!!

Head across the pedestrian overpass from Cal to the MSS...go down the escalator to MSS casino....look left....MEGABUCKS!!!

I was downtown during Super Bowl week, but couldn't remember seeing any. Wasn't really looking for them on that trip. Was at the D and don't remember seeing any $1 Megabucks machines. Glad to hear they're still found in most downtown casinos.

Maybe we'll give them a try if we end up in the Plaza. We usually buy stuff at the beef jerky store when we visit Vegas.

Put it this way. The only casinos downtown that do not have Megabucks are La Bayou and Mermaids. Those casinos are circus sideshows anyway. I don't really get their schick. They are liberal with drink service, but have crappy slots (slots only) and probably have the highest holds of any casinos in the state of Nevada. I don't really get why/how they exist. Although, I do have it say they are great places if you want to get a quick buzz on. Their cocktails really kick ass!

Actually the megabucks machines at MSS are in the same aisle when you come down the escalator. It is right below the "hidden" 2nd floor which houses a pool table.

The megabucks machines at the Fremont are right near the door that goes out to casino center drive (door closes to Binions). It is in a "circular" carousel.

agree with the location of the machines at the Cal, it is right near the player's club booth.

Most of the downtown casinos have the machine, you just have to go walking around the casino to look for it. It isn't hard to find, just look for the "MEGABUCKS" sign. Just ask one of the attendants to point it out to you, that would be the faster method instead of walking all around looking for it. Actually I found the machines to be difficult to find on some of the strip properties (like luxor). Many of the strip properties have so many signs that is hard to distinguish the mega sign from other signs.

I usually will try to play the machine at least once a day. I want to win so I can retire already.

There is 2 - $1 denomination Megabucks (Takes $3 for max bet) at Four Queens. In the middle of the casino close to the bar there is a section of higher roller machines, they are near those, one on each side of the aisle.
But I haven't played them since last December...they may have moved. Enjoy your trip!

Maybe I'll give the final tally of our tries on the Megabucks machines. We'll probably put a few dollars in and try for the big one. Last time we'd put $51 in and play it till it was gone or we doubled it (which only happened once). Can't wait to give it a try!

I have to correct my post and partially agree with electroguy (I apologize electroguy). At the MSS there is a PENNY megabucks machine right below the escalators, when you exit the escalators it is to the left and you can see it when you are going up and down the escalators. As I mentioned, there are dollar megabucks machines (the standard ones you see all over) that is right below the "hidden" 2nd floor.

I always play the dollar mega machines so I forget that there is a penny machine at MSS. I hardly ever see a penny mega machine at most casinos.

No problem Makikiboy. Actually, I'm glad you posted where those dollar ones are because I didn't know, LOL! I prefer to play the dollar ones myself. I'm so used to playing the ones at the Cal and Fremont that I always thought MSS only had the penny ones!

yeah, we both got it partially wrong.

Actually there are 4 dollar megabucks machines at MSS. Right near the main street entrance to the casino that is at the intersection of Main St. and Stewart ave. 2 sets facing each other.

I once watched someone playing the penny mega machine but it looked too confusing to play (other than putting my money in and pressing buttons - I couldn't figure out what I needed to win) so I never played it.

Final tally on our latest trip. Played 6x on various $1 Megabucks machines over a weeks time and put $51 each time. Only ended up positive once for $75 and lost the entire $51 on the other tries. No close hits while we played, but can't win the jackpot if you don't try. Will try again on my next trip. Thanks.
