For my next trip to Vegas I'm going to wire money into the cage because A) I'll be in the states to begin with (from Canada) for a couple weeks before going to Vegas so really don't want to carry a ton of cash.......and B) my bankroll will be larger this time around.

I'll be staying at Mandalay one night and Paris for three.

Considering sending 5k to Mandalay and 10k to Paris. Is that enough for them to allow it?

And how does it work when I get there, I assume I go to the cage and sign for something when I get there? And then do I ask for chips or TITOs at the cage itself?

When leaving the casino, I assume I can ask for cash or a cheque (assuming I have anything left!)

When you arrive go to the cage. You'll sign some forms and be all set. At Mandalay you get cash or Tito at the HL slot cashier. You get chips by asking the pit boss at the table you are playing at. Very easy process. When you are done gambling you can get cash or a check.

Great, thanks everyone. I've never used a line of credit or front money. Getting chips at the table is relatively quick I assume? Is it bad form to ask for less than a certain amount when you join the table?

yes and no , you want a good raiting i assume for comps , so dont piss off the pit boss by asking for 100$ the minum i would do is 500$ but if your at a 100$ table take what you need 1000$ , its all realitive to what your playing.
i would say taking 500$ at a 25$ table is fine, but at 100$ tableit is a joke ,its your money so u might aswell take if you dont need it keep it.just my opinion
    at 100$ table i usualy take 2 k out.

but 1 k is fine. its just paper work that they have to do .

    and slots it doesnt matter

If you're playing table games you ask for a marker at the table.

For slots, you pull a marker at the cage and they give you a TITO.

The one thing you have to be careful about is that they are not allowed to just give you cash from the wire.

There's bank laws and they won't just give you whatever you want in cash. Also at the end of the trip they have to wire back whatever is left, you can't take it in cash or a check.

So tell me if this make sense... When I send front money the paperwork I sign at the cage is actually for a credit line equal to the amount of my front money. I signed markets when I wanted cash or chips but the markers did not have my bank info on them. I have never actually applied for a credit line. Perhaps when I was getting cash at the HL cashier they were printing a Tito and then cashing it??

It doesn't make sense, but different casinos may operate differently.

You shouldn't need to have a credit line in order to send and use front money, and they shouldn't make you set one up. In order for them to establish a credit line, it should be necessary for you to fill out an application specifically for that, it has completely different terms than what you sign for front money.

If you have both a credit line and front money, they are accounted for completely separately, although they are both linked to your internal customer number. If you go to the cage to get cash against front money, they just debit your front money account, they don't need to wash it with a TITO.

But the front money/credit line thing can get confusing if you have both, because:

At both CET and MGM properties, if I go to the cage (either regular or high limit) and ask for cash or a TITO against my front money, that's what I get - they draw down the front money account. But also at both CET and MGM, when I took out markers at a table, they drew against my credit line (which I didn't realize). So when I went to the cage to ask how much front money I had left, it was higher than I thought.

Then at the end of the trip, when I wanted to have them wire back the remainder of my front money, they asked if I wanted to pay the credit line off via the front money. I had no idea what they were talking about at first.

So if you're at a table and you want to use front money, you have to specify that, unless they know you. Also be aware that if you go to the cage and ask "How much do I have available?" they may quote you the sum of your available front money PLUS your available credit line.

Markers don't have bank info on them, at least not the account number. I can't remember if the bank name has been on any, I think it might be.

    Thanks for all the info.

Last question, if I go to a table, take out money from my "account", and then walk away with money left......do they care if I take the chips with me or do I need to have them add it back to my account balance?

You can keep the chips forever as far as they're concerned.

Ok cool, just wondering if they cared if I took chips then cashed them in for cash. Guess it's my actual money, not credit, so why should they care.

You didn't say anything about cashing them in.

I just said you could keep the chips forever.

Cashing them in is a completely different story.

They will not let you with markers outstanding even if they're markers on your FM deposit.
