Baseball is 90% mental and the other half is physical.

I think Yogi will be impressed by the number of people that show up to honor him.

Yes Yogi will be missed. Only he could say half the things he did and everyone understand them.....I bet there will be many Yogi-isms at the funeral.

Ps Breeze I hope your recover is going well.

    I believe I have Yogi's 1962 or '63 Topps baseball card.
I bought it in a 5 cent pack w/ the bubble gum , in there.
Damn gum, ruined my teeth for life !
I'll have to take a look in my plastic baseball card bin........yes, I have Mantle + Mays, Koufax, etc.
Alot of my cards survived........somehow ?

Yeah, I had all of those plus many more. My mother, during one of her trips down memory lapse lane, shipped them all to my brother thinking he was me after a basement cleanout. The son of a bitch refused to talk or negotiate about them. Families. Good for nothing except excess misery.

My dad was a huge baseball fan and talked often about Yogi Berra and Dizzy Dean. One saying my dad remembered and often quoted, was when Yogi's career was winding down they had him playing in the outfield at times. When an interviewer asked Yogi what he thought about playing left-field, his response was "They should charge me to get in."

September 23rd is my dad's birthday. He finally get's to meet one of his idols. RIP Yogi and Happy Birthday Daddy.

"When you come to the fork in the road, take it". While very funny, I did read that line came from him giving directions to a writer to his home. Yogi lived on a cul de sac type street. Big half circle, so either turn got you there, so it actually makes sense. But the original interpretation is still very funny.

It always got a good laugh at our little league end of the year parties.

I'm remembering he did a Miller Lite commercial too back in the day? It was pretty funny too if I remember correctly...

"It ain't over, 'til it's over".
It's over now for Yogi but we will remember him as long as baseball is still around. Rest in peace.

When asked if he wanted his pizza cut into 4 slices or 8 slices, he responded, "Cut it into 4, I don't think I can eat 8."
