I asked our host at MSS if she could book us a suite with gold card at Cal just for a change of scenery, or did we have to go through a Cal host? She can do it. I think we're going to do it for our Oct trip.

Anybody ever have a suite at Cal?

Searching previous threads, it sounds like the West tower is the better choice. Yea or nay?

West tower for sure. If you are lucky you might get a Signature suite on the top floor, I think there are only 4 of them. Never had one.

Our Boyd "home casino" is MSS. We got our cards there long ago. BUT, we have a California host. She has booked both MSS and The Cal for us.

The West Tower has nicer regular rooms, especially the bathroom area. Don't know about the suites.

On my last two solo trips the Cal stuck me up there on the top floor. That whole floor is different than the regular floors. The hallway ceilings are higher, the décor is different and nicer (kinda dated).

The rooms are bigger, with higher ceilings. There is a king size bed, a living room area but essentially it's just a huge, big ass room. The living room has a full size couch, coffee table, lounge chairs, and the T.V looks like a 50 or 60 inch flatscreen on a drawer type furniture. The refrigerator is right underneath in the cabinet and is a larger one than the lower floors. There are two vanity sinks, one one sink and the other has two sinks. There is only one toilet in it's own closet and there is a walk in shower and a jet tub/jaccuzzi thingy. The bath area is made up of this earth tone color marble tile from floor to ceiling.

If you like you can look up my March and July TR's I think I posted some pretty bad pics of the room but you'll get an idea of how different the room is from the normal ones.

Royal Flusher mentioned about there being 4 signature suites on the top floor. I don't think this is one of those and I think my BIL mentioned those suites are at opposite ends of the hallway 2 on each end but that's what he said and he's been known to be full of it. :evillaugh

Joe. I would say go for it. I hope they give you the signature suite, because if I thought my room was nice the signature suite is bound to be a lot nicer!

Our host got back to us and it will be a Cal suite and the gold card. I did request the west tower, but left it up to her.

Your suite sounds much nicer than the ones we are used to at MSS. Two vanities and a jetted tub, walk-in shower. My wife would love that.

Yes, I agree she will. I do hope you get west tower. The elevators can let you off on the mezzanine level and MSS is just a hop, skip, and jump away.

    Have fun and Good Luck!

Good for food & beverage at all downtown Boyd owned restaurants. Also good At Tony Roma's in the Fremont, not that I would ever go there again.

second - Tony Roma was not very good. Thought Lanai(basically just a cafeteria) wasn't bad for a quick meal. Used food credits there and for $6.99 it was enough for both of us.

Joe, isn't Brenda the one that dresses very well and carries a lot of bling on her hands? I have dealt with her before and she has been very accommodating.
