It's been announced that the final Presidential debate, October 19, 2016, will be held in Vegas at the Thomas & Mack. What a zoo that will be!

    Wow that sucks.

I am scheduled to leave town that morning.

Wonder how bad that will be.

It won't be bad. Four years ago, one of the debates was (literally) three blocks from my house. Expect a lot of security in and round T&M Center, and maybe a traffic delay if you're trying to drive at the same time a candidate motorcade is passing by, but otherwise its no big deal. There will be a lot of national media in town, but that's about it. Just think about it. Its vegas. They handle much bigger crowds than this all the time

Just a reminder folks, political comments are not permitted on VMB. Please review the Board rules. Let's keep this discussion limited to the event and how it may impact your travel plans. Thanks

I was checking out of Caesars a few years ago when Obama came in. They put a letter under the door to let us know to give extra travel time to the airport but it wasn't bad at all.

You've already got a schedule for 13 months from now? That's planning!

When POTUS was in Vegas a few months ago he played R-Bay and SC. They blocked tee times for 2 hours at R-Bay to clear adjoing fairways but there were others on the course.
Our SC caddie said it's a hassle because they go through every car in the lot, lockers everything. Understandable. SC is so well set up for that though. That's why they all play there.

    Next month. Democratic first debate.

What sucks is that they don't announce his travel plans like they do in other major cities so you can't really plan on avoiding certain streets/areas.

Let me know when the king of Saudi Arabia goes to Las Vegas. His recent trip to DC was quite entertaining...from the 150 private drivers for his entourage to the red carpet that had to be rolled out for him because he didn't want his feet touching the ground

Shifter, your timing is correct -- the Democratic candidates are having a debate on 10/13/15 at Wynn.

I agree with you UK. It is not like it one of the nominating conventions. I bet it would barely be noticed in Vegas.

It was the four seasons. He also had the furniture in his suite removed, including the toilets, and replaced with gold furniture and toilets.
