Hey all. Well getting ready for the big meet up tonight. So far I've been doing really good. So here's the question. I'm normally a $10/$15 pass line better. But, for the meet tonight I was thinking of upping my bet to $25. What would y'all buy in for? I was thinking $1k but, that might be low. Advise me oh wise ones.
Are you planning on doing anything besides pass line bets backed up by whatever odds are allowed? I think 1k is the minimum, and if you're doing anything else at all (54 across, hard ways, field, etc.), I'd think about 2k instead, if you can manage it. (SO easy to spend other people's money, huh?)
I like craps but I can go through $200 on a $5 table pretty quick. My $200 buy-in on a $5 table would be similar to a $1000 buy-in playing $25. If you start at $25 you could always back down if table minimum is less than $25. Just play your own plan. Don't get intimidated by bigger betters. Have Fun and WIn BIg!
Why would you do that? I always lower my bet significantly for stuff like that. When you do some event at a place you're not familiar with and new people you're already going to be distracted from your normal routine. That increases your chances of a bad session IMO and raising your bet is more likely to just end in you kicking yourself for losing so much.
I very much concur with this. I know the feeling of wanting to up your betting on a 'special' event. But I think Shifter is 100% correct. I'd even lower my betting until I see how things go. Or at least until I'm playing on casino money.
My opinion is this. Bet what you can afford to lose. Peer pressure should not factor into equation. That being said go out and crush em tonight. Good luck!
I'm with Ty on this one. I'm a $5 table player. You can always play conservatively until the table starts to come alive.
Nope, like I'd listen to a bunch of degenerates. But, it did work out good. At one point I was up about $1500. But, as I'm at the airport him up about $500. So not bad.
OK, IMHO, you need to change your thinking. It's NOT THEIR MONEY!!!! IT'S YOUR MONEY . . . . Like in February when I hit the $10K jackpot after being down $1K and giving back another $2K. I left the casino and drove home a day early with $7 of MY money. Sorry for the rant. "Their vs. my" money statements always makes me angry.
Oh I know. But to me it's a bit less stressful if you're betting what you've won. Still not good losing it, but when I head to Vegas I figure I'm out that money anyway. Sorry if my "smart assedness" didn't come through. [emoji3]
If the game is mostly flat bets like blackjack I will do 20 to 30x the table min. With craps, I feel like about 10% of your buy in is reasonable.
