    My Trip Report

    Vegas 9/2-5
The last few years we have been going to Vegas on or near our wedding anniversary. Found a decent air on SWA for wed-sat both nonstops out of Hartford and got a room this year at PHo on their dime.

Wednesday: Up and headed to Bradley for a 7:50 AM flight. Got to Vegas 25 minutes early and got to PH for check in. Got an upgrade to a Bellagio fountain view king go room. no charge for early check in.

We cleaned up and went to Earl of Sandwich for lunch. Good sandwiches and charged it to the room. We walked around the casino stopping at some penny machines. I hit one for $239 and quit. Lori decided she needed a pair of white underwear to wear on Thursday, so we hit the VS in the MM...
Walked over to Paris figuring I would surprise Lori with tickets to Jersey Boys. After some haggling got two tickets Mezzane 2nd row for $99 for the pair. Show was pretty darn good imho.

Headed back to PH as wer were getting a bit tired and went up to the room. She said she wasn't going back down so i watched tv a bit and wound up going to the casino to play some bartop VP,but the bars were very crowded and couldn't get a seat. So I headed to the BJ pit with the dealers in bustiers and fishnets...sat in on a $25 DD game, but "one hand charlies" jumping in so I moved to a shoe game...played a couple shoes without much success. Decided it was time to hit the HL room. Sat in on a $100 shoe game and when all was done tallied out with $2700 to the good side. had another beer and went to bed.

    Thusday:
Up fairly early as we have Pink Jeep Red Rock Rocky Gap tour scheduled. Had a quick bite at Planet Dailes and went to wait for our ride. When we got to Red Roclk we found only us and a young man from Montreal were the only passengers. During the tour i paid my respects to my friend from England(Chris) who had some of his ashes spread there. Our guide,Shannin, was very informative and friendly.

When we got back to PH, went to the room to clean up and rest a bit. I bet a Pick 4 at Del Mar and then we went and had a bite at the sports book I had a slice of pizza(damn good) and a beer. Lori had hamburg sliders.... was hoping to catch the Pats/Giants game but, no dice.

Walked over to the Cosmo for the first ever to try the Verbens that I've read so much about... Quite and interesting taste....then we went to the Chandeleir bar for another ciocktail... on the wat out I put a 20 in a penny machine, ran it up to $50 and cashed out. I am up for life there. ;)

Cabbed it to Harrahs(with an H ;) ) ,my usual solo stomping grounds to see who was working the bars and tables. Said hello to a few friends, played a few machines and headed to the Linq. Tried a video Blackjack game, the one with the female dealer on screen. 20 in, 50 out.
Headed to O'Sheas to say hello to Brian(the little guy) but he was not on shift that time.

Next was Margaraville for a rooftop margi and see the lights...walked though the Flam, played a few machines....walked past the Cromwell with no intention of stopping.(that fight thread)
.we stopped at the Ballys new straw market(meh)
we got back to PH and decided to "rest" ;)
I went back downstairs wanting to play some bartop VP, watch sports and chill, but the bars there just didn't click with me.

Went over to the HL pit and saw a couple guys at the table from the previous night and sat in(good vibe and several cocktails). Was not having too many good cards, then got a pair of sixes with a $200 bet against a dealer 6. spilt, two more sixes..in the end i ended up $400.. could have been worse. more cocktails and about 4AM i left up $300.

    Friday:

Breakfast at Spice Market buffet...with Bloody Marys... then to the pool. was hoping to catch a few zzzz's but the damn EDM was annoying so didn't stay long.

Played some machines for a few hours the cabbed it to The STRAT and hung there a bit and went to Roxies Diner for a burger..then went up to the 107 lounge for a cocktail and watch the sunset...

From there we went to the D... sadly the CI/CO machines are no mas... but Lori had never seen a Sigma Derby game so we sat it and lost a couple bucks each..

headed to Mermaids as the last two years she hit a coin out jackpot..again no machines..watched a Beatles cover band for a bit then walked around.

.too many "buskers" for my liking, though the two topless girls with great racks painted like the flag were interesting, but the 60 ish sagging boobs with stars was not, as was the guy in the Devil thong that could have at least shaved his ass...

cabbed it to the Rio as we had a free tower pass to Voodoo... had a cocktail there and Lori wanted to do the Zip line again....NFW! last year i about shit my pants....walked over to the Old Coast for a bit, then took shutt;e to the Strip...up to the the room to rest;) down to the casino but again the bartops were packed to the gills..my one disappointment with pH... so, back to the HL room for some BJ..my new buds were there and and drank and played till 5am with some success..off to bed.:

    Saturday: Last Day

slept in as we had a late checkout...flight was at 2:35...while Lori was packing I went downstairs to the Diamond lounge to see if Big Red on site. She was and we exchanged pleasantries and asked to see what my play was,etc... she ended up comping me all room charges and presented me with a check out receipt of zero.point.zero and credited my CC for upfront resort fees.etc.
left for the airport..after a couple of gate changes, headed home...4 hours and 23 minutes we were in Hartford and an hour later I was in my recliner sucking down a few beers.

    Final Thougts...

really good trip as we both needed a getaway...
the buskers are really are getting to be a PITA,
saw a guy confront a cab driver about the fare from the airport to the D $45.....
cabbie asked the guy about the route he asked for(tunnel)... in the end the guy who had about $50k in his hand, paid the fare and told the cabbie FU on a tip...

overall, we had a fun time and well, this wasn't too shabby

That's $4600 to the good not counting a Pick 4 at DelMar
that I played online at TVG that paid $751 on a 50 cent ticket.

    ps. hope you enjoyed this.

    Nice report!

If you were having trouble getting on a bartop, I guess that means CET will keep having those shitty paytables. [emoji35]

And rare when I hear a story where I feel bad for a cabbie!

Nice report and congrats on winning! Even with the tunnel, $45 seems a bit steep, unless there was bad traffic on I-15.

I agree on the buskers (especially the "gents" in thongs)...Pee-Wee Herman is pretty impressive, though. In June we saw him DT one day and on the strip the next. Of course, he can get around pretty quickly on that sweet bicycle!
