I searched slot tourneys on VMB and still have some questions. I just got an invite yesterday for a tourney at Harrahs. I already had my trip booked and I had my host add on the slot tourney to my trip. It has $150,000 prize pool from $25k in free play for first place to $50 free play for 750th place. In the fine print it says that prize structure may be adjusted based on actual number of entrants.

    1st Place • $25,000
    2nd Place • $15,000
    3rd Place • $7,000
    4th Place • $5,000
    5th Place • $3,000
    6th - 10th Place • $1,500 each
    11th - 20th Place • $750 each
    21st - 50th Place • $500 each
    51st - 100th Place • $250 each
    101st - 500th Place • $100 each
    501st - 750th Place • $50 each

All winnings will be awarded in Casino Play. All prizes not picked up by Monday, October 12, 2015 at 7pm will be forfeited.

Does this mean if only 600 people get in everyone wins, but adjusted amounts? I've never done one before and just trying to understand. It sounds like only one day of play. I'm guessing only one round?

All events and activities will take place at Harrah's Las Vegas. Please reference your welcome letter upon arrival for registration times and locations.

    Friday, October 9
    3pm - 7pm • Tournament Registration

    Saturday, October 10
    10am - Noon • Continued Tournament Registration
    10am • Tournament Play

    Sunday, October 11
    10am • Tournament Registration

    Thanks for any info!

I just did one of these for $75k last month and asked this same question. How they explained it was it would be adjusted down relative to the prize structure already in place. They place a value (buy-in amount) on each entrant and if they do not get the number of entrants, then the prize pool is adjusted to reflect the smaller amount of entries.

Say the max amount of entrants was 1000, so every entrant is valued at $150 (1000 x $150 = $150,000). If they only got 500 entrants than the prize pool would be 500 x $150 instead.

My tournament had 2 rounds over 2 days. It looks like a typo for Sunday 10am, there would be no more registration, that would be the 2nd day of play.

Yes I figured that was a typo for sunday. Oh well it will be something to do Saturday when the bf is watching football in the book. I have never done a tourney before. Maybe I'll get some beginners luck.
