Just a couple of quick questions on how y'all play??

On slots, do you still play max bet if you don't need to hit the max bet in order to get a bonus game?? I know a lot of slots, with the max bet will give you a bigger payout if you hit the jackpot, but max isn't required for the "extra spins game" or other bonu games... What do you do?

Also, on Texas Hold'em Bonus and Ultimate Texas Hold'em... do y'all play th bonus bet and the trips bet?? I typically don't. My wife used to play those all the time.. I see people hit the bonus and get so excited and how that bonus bet "saved them"...

On our last trip, I told my wife those bets exist to make more money for the casino, she agreed but thouht it was fun to play them. We did a little expirement... we wen to a Ulimate Texas Hold'em table and designated a separate $100 for just the bonus bets... any bonus bets came from that stack and any bonus winnings went right back into it. She was amazed at how fast it went.

Now with that being said, if a dealer asks if you want to bet the "trips" bonus bet and you say no... why on earth do a lot of them continually hound you about?? Do they casinos require them to try and get people to bet those side bets?

I always play max coin if there is a bigger payout like in VP and most of the old reel slots, otherwise you're giving up some of the payback.

I usually do the side bets at table games because they're fun or especially if you can do them for 1 or so.... also because I would be so mad if I got a royal flush or something and didn't pay that extra dollar for the big jackpot... Also if the progressive sidebet gets to a certain point it can become positive EV. Wizard of Odds has info on that.

For Ultimate Texas Hold'em the trips bet actually doesn't have that crazy of a payoff, so I wouldn't feel bad skipping it.

I always play the Trips bet on UTH because the house advantage is only 3.5%. THB or 3CP I never play it, Pai Gow I sometimes play it. My wife will always play the bonus bet and she does so much better on it than me. Last trip she got 2 straight flush and 2 quads in Pai Gow, probably no more than 15-20 hours played. At least in one session it helped her book a win when she was down $150 before. Also last trip I made a royal flush in Pai Gow and got zip because I didn't play it. The table was happy for envy bonus though.

One time playing UTH the dealer dealt quads on the board and the full table played the trips bet. That was awesome.

I've done the same experiment as OP with the extra stack just for bonus bets.

I'll play it on all tables games (Fortune Bet, Trips Bet, Pair Plus bet)
On slots, I don't play max often...but Video Poker, always.

On slots I always max credits since I almost always play the bonus game variety like Ghostbusters, Goldfish, etc... and winning a buck forty on a bonus game just seems lame :D. On table games with a side bet, I usually stay away but I will occasionally throw down a buck or five if I'm bored, never seems to pay out though, naturally.
