Yesterday I get a call from my host at Mandalay, after we booked our next trip just on Friday mind you, and he tells me we have been invited to be a Noir level on MLife, shocking to say the least as I considered that to be for players far above us and mainly HL table players. I have a couple of questions for the Noir level people here if you can answer them as I didn't have time to ask him about these issues due to work issues at the time, so any help will be much appreciated. I know the basics listed on MLife but when we hit Platinuim earlier this year we found out there were benefits not listed on MLife at individual casinos, small things like entry to the Shark Reef, Art Gallery at Bellagio and such but are there other benefits to Noir not listed on MLifes site is my first question. The second would be with the turnover date approaching will we keep the Noir level through this year or will we revert back to Platinum after October. Thanks in advance for any help yall can offer.

I am not Noir but as a general rule if you achieve a level you have that level for the next year. So it should be good until 10/16.

There's not really any additional benefit for Noir over Plat. I think you get a slightly bigger discount at the gift shop. But you get the same line pass and the same entrance to things like the Shark Reef and Secret Garden, etc. And Hogman is correct about when it expires.

May I ask, how many tiers you've made?

If you mean this MLife year we started at Gold, hit Platinum in December and have made 4 trips since December the last being early in August.

Sry. I meant how many tier points you've gained this MLife year.

    Purely my opinion:

I made Platinum mLife last year and considered my self as "dead ended" because I didn't know how many TC it would take to "qualify" me for an invitation.

Plus, despite what others have said, offers (other than the standard corporate ones) ARE property specific (to where you play)

At least through CET, there are enough Seven Stars members that the process is pretty transparent. I understand that it's an invitational level, but also understand that it take 150,000TC to qualify

Those are some of the reasons I converted over to CET/TR..

This has been a question here for a long time. For me, at Aria I had over 2,000,000 tc's over 5 trips and no invite. I didn't lose for the year but gave them lots of action. No invite. I never brought it up to my host as it means essentially nothing. Its a status symbol. Good for you though OP. I hope it brings you great luck! Go get em!

You get to use the VIP Lounge check-in & amenities, which is nice if you're staying somewhere supposedly upscale like Aria or Bellagio - you don't get this at Platinum

Honestly I don't really keep track. I just go and play and either win or lose.

Just an FYI, unless they changed it recently, Noir status does not grant you access to the Skysuite lounge at Aria or the VIP lounge at Bellagio. You have to be coded for those in their system and its your room key, not the Noir card, that grants you access. It seems like most Noir players are staying in the suites at those hotels anyways, but I have witnessed a Noir member turned away at the Bellagio VIP (admittedly, it was more than a year ago, so things could have changed)

I disagree. I think when Noir first came out (and was more exclusive) you're absolutely dead on. I believe MGM employees were told to go above and beyond for Noir members. But when more and more players started reaching Noir status, it became common enough that it doesn't really turn heads in the casino anymore (except maybe with other players). I agree, its nice to have, but I don't really see anything my Noir card gets me that a Plat member gambling at the same level doesn't also receive

You know, it did just pop in my head (because I was thinking of Vegas only when I first read the OP this morning) Noir does get you access to the VIP lounge at GoldStrike Tunica (and platinum does not). There may also be some specific Beau Rivage and MGM Detroit advantages to Noir, but I do not play there and do not know.

After reading this thread, I should get one printed. Only time I've ever had the need for one, and of course didn't have it, was waiting in the godawful taxi line for an hour.

Maybe that why I subconsciously don't prefer MGM properties. Lol. I think I do have my pearl card somewhere...

Why wait in a taxi line? Your host there or at any of the places where you play can get you a limo any time!

I don't know why but I don't really use the limo service when I'm by myself unless it's too and from the airport.

Especially when I'm going to have some pho or some simple Korean food off property, the limo waiting outside for just me is a bit too pretentious.

And no matter how hard I try to get them to eat with me, they refuse...maybe I'm picking the wrong restaurants?

Where they serve "simple Korean food" off property, do they serve Champong??

I'd love to add another Champong restaurant to my list . . . .

I hear ya about the clubs and pool. I have always gotten the same service on that front, even when I was platinum, because I go through my host for all of it. But if flashing your Noir card gets you something of benefit at the club, then that is cool and more power to you. I don't really know what you mean by better pit service. There are good pits and poor ones. But I have found it depends on who is working them, not whether I am Noir or not. I have never seen a shitty dealer or supervisor suddenly turn on the charm because I flashed a noir card
