I am going to an indians game and looked on the TR calendar and had the ritz comped so decided to book it. Never been to the casino so how is the diamond lounge there. Is there a happy hour for free drinks in the diamond lounge like some CET casinos that are not in vegas. Is there any food in there or discount drinks. Any useful information about the Horseshoe in general would be helpful. I wont be able to spend a ton of time there because we will be at a couple games but I need to get some play in and knowing more about it before I get there will help me not waste time once inside. thanks.

I haven't been to the diamond lounge there, but a buddy of mine has been, said there are no free drinks in Cleveland. Maybe some finger foods? I don't recall exactly, the drinks were the only thing I had asked him about. We're heading there in about a month for a weekend. Enjoy your stay.

As an aside, unless the legislation changed (I followed it in the early days, havent kept up with it as closely lately), the rules governing Ohio casinos stipulate no complimentary drinks - ever. So unless that's changed, you won't be getting any regardless of your status. :(

No free drinks, but drinks are suppose to be cheaper in the Diamond lounge, but I still paid $4 for a Guinness draft. The finger food is served at 5pm, the diamond lounge also has 4 blackjack tables. There are 3 levels and the Diamond lounge is on the 3rd level. The best drink special is the $1 Mimosas from 10-2 on the weekdays. The TAG bar also has $3 specials on M-Th from 9-9, I think. This link has all the drink specials. Also there are no beverage stations. The food outlets are so-so. If I don't do the comp buffet, I usually get the Clevelander from the B-spot.

If you look young, have ID ready. All bags are checked, including purses, entering the casino and no outside beverages are permitted including water or Starbucks. The table games, craps/BJ, usually have $15 minimum.

The Ritz is a little strict with early check-ins, so don't be surprise if a room isn't "ready" until after 2pm. You can valet at the Ritz for free, with a comp room, or use the casino's self-parking lot and carry your bags the 2 blocks to the hotel. The lobby had coffee and tea in the morning and a cold beverage in the late afternoons. They are working on the elevators so only one is working to get to the rooms, so sometimes there are waits and they require your room key to get to your floor and if you are not quick in getting your key card into the slot you can spend some extra time riding up & down the elevators.

We have done the Indians/casino weekend a few times. Definitely use the free valet parking. The last gentleman is correct. Due to Ohio law, no free drinks. I can't speak to the diamond lounge as I am a lowly platinum. Skip the buffet unless you want some digestive issues during your visit. It is free but it is the gift that keeps on giving. There are many great restaurants off campus so I would suggest going that route. One thing to keep in mind for sure is safety. The front tower city entrance to the casino at night is sketchy at best. There are many bums and beggars wanting money and cigarettes. Try and use the back entrance or thru tower city mall area if possible. They do have tight security inside the casino and the ritz, but at night keep your eyes open when walking to and fro. Not trying to be a negative nelly! It is always fun there, just be aware what is going on around you and you will be fine.

You said the valet parking is free if you are on a comp, how do i do this. Do I just say something to the front desk when I check in or to the valet person when they take my car. Thanks again for the info.

Just pull up to the valet and tell them you are a guest and they give you a ticket. That is that!

The valet at the hotel, not the casino. Don't want to confuse you.

Just confirm at the front desk and they will make sure your room isn't charge.

When you buy drinks at the diamond lounge here, can you use your reward credits to pay.
