What are your favorite options for lighter meals?

I'm determined to try some new places this trip, but if I do one big meal per day the other meal needs to be something smaller. What are your go-to places for a light meal- could be sandwich, pizza, Asian, you name it? Strip locations will be easiest and I don't have a preference for sit-down or not.

My go-to has usually been EOS but I do that almost every trip.

 

Noodles and Red 8 are usually where I go to get my Asian fix on the strip. For stuff like sandwiches, most cafes will do, so I usually hang out at the Terrace Pointe Cafe or the Grand Lux Cafe.

 

Try the happy hour at Julian Serrano. All tapas run $5-6 and the selection is enormous. Happy hour runs from 12 to 5.

 

Most of the time we don't really eat aside from one huge meal. But last trip the light options were pho at the cafe place in TI, Illy at The Venetian for coffee and a light bite, and Yard House at The Linq for beer and their awesome deviled eggs.

 

Second on this one! So good, I go every trip! $5 sangria too. Just remember you have to sit at the bar.

All my other light meals in Vegas come from Walgreens or Starbucks or a slice of pizza!

 

Julian Serrano and China Poblano are my choices. Small plates for the win.

 

Ok, I'm thinking Julian Serrano is on the must-try list for this trip, especially since it's not too much of a walk from Vdara.

 

Another vote for Julian Serrano for tapas.
Last visit I had oxtail, asparagus, octopus and scallops.



Also California Pizza Kitchen has great salads, just get a half salad though, it's more than enough.

Coffee and desert at Serendipity - out in front of Caesars. Eclectic and fun.

At Aria, Jean-Philippe patisserie sandwiches. They have a combo of three tiny sandwiches that is perfect for two not-hungry people

At MB, Citizens for salad or soup and smoothies

At Excalibur, Buca di Beppo for their very thin crust pizza. Just enough for three not-hungry people

At Harrah's, Fulton St Food Hall for salad bar

Sushi anywhere.

 

Light meals I just eat something in the room; cereal, jerky, nuts, popcorn, protein bars.

 

I can't quibble with the advice you've received so far!

I have a bit of a sweet tooth. So I'll often just hit up one of the decent bakery joints on the strip (Bouchon, Jean Phillipe, etc.) and get a pastry or some cookies and a coffee. I can also make a meal out of some ice cream or gelato.

 

Dupar's at Golden Gate does a half cup of soup and half sandwich. Love it.

mine used to be the hot dog special at the barbary coast.....but now that they've hoity toity'd the place...

 

Lemongrass is a good suggestion. Do they still have dim sum on the weekends?

 

Now that I have some caffeine in me and my mind is working...

I may also recommend Jaleo. We had a great meal there this spring.

China Poblano is one of my favorite joints in Vegas. I really like items from both sides of the kitchen, especially the siu mai.

If you are willing to eat a bit early, Cosmo has some very good happy hour specials at many of their restaurants. Blue Ribbon Sushi had some very nice cheap happy hour prices for some of their rolls.

Aria has good pre-theater "early evening" menus as well.

 

Certain mid-priced buffets can be a source for some light meals. They have fruit, salads, soups, and veggie dishes.

Just gotta have discipline and avoid the carving stations.

The low-end buffets are probably not a good idea. Their fruit and soups come out of a can.

 

I believe there may have been a change. I checked the website and a happy hour is no longer listed, but there is a bar menu that runs 11:30AM-5:30PM.
