Hopefully this will quiet the "closing in a week" rumours for awhile.

In a little under a month I'll be concentrating my time here and at the Plaza where I just got a 2 night matching offer from Curt....the time won't get here soon enough!

I was planning on staying there for March Madness 2016 but will have to see how this plays out. Our group usually stays on strip but are going downtown for 2016. If I don't hear positive news from DG i'm thinking MSS or GN.

I am a fan of the property.....really hope it survives. My sister and I stayed there two nights last week and can't say enough about the property, pool, and the employees. I did fill out the comment survey with some of my suggestions regarding the blackjack area.....epic fail not having tables open until 2:00. Several times we also went to play in the afternoon, only to find one full table open. I personally like the location.....one block away from the craziness. I would love to see small type boutique shops, coffee house, etc., filling in both sides of the avenue walking toward The Grand. I think that would help with the foot traffic.

Well hell, much better news than we "we are closing effective ____" . Now, concerning the uniforms, if they are doing anything like the old "uniforms" those wonderful beverage girls wore at Rio years back, damn well might pack them in.....

Never underestimate the power of eye candy on the casino floor.

Those were the good ol days. A party pit near the sports book would be nice too.

So, when I get there the photo capture of many in the new uniforms would be appropriate, we are agreed? But if it's a let down, mgmt will hear from me.....

Hmmmm, if things workout, a photo album might be a thought or calendar? Perhaps a way to explain all my pic taking?

Reports are that as of today the tables have been removed from the main floor and whatever they decided to keep is now in the high limit areas. Would be curious to see how many tables are left and of what type.

"table games relocated to a more intimate setting" is nothing more than marketing spin & smoke for saying this -

"Our casino is failing because we refuse to offer decent fundamental gambling values which will attract a loyal clientele. So, we've laid off more than half of our dealers and closed our table games for 50% of each day to cut costs. Because keeping the casino floor partially closed on a daily basis openly reveals our tenuous financial status, we're substantially shrinking the size of our pit and moving it to a less noticeable corner of the casino. We hope that this will allow everyone to forget that we're mismanaging our casino right out of business...until a notice of sale or closure is publicly released."

I sorely miss the Imperial Palace of the mid-90's. :( Those cocktail waitress uniforms were the ultimate eye candy. Nothing has come close since those uniforms went away. Those were the days!

That is an absolutely dubious phrase.

The "loyal clientele" is already playing at the casino that they are loyal to. If they switch because a place were to be made more attractive, then they are not loyal.

And if that non-loyal customer jumps from Casino A to Casino B, then when the next flavor-of-the-month comes along, they will rush to Casino C.

If Casino B = Downtown Grand, being a whore isn't going to get them anywhere.
