    My Trip Report

I have always enjoyed reading trip reports. Doesn't matter if it's from a low roller or High Roller, it's always fun to feel the OP's excitement as their trip unfolds. What I enjoy most from reading the reports is learning about the different experiences available through Vegas- so many I have yet to discover on my own. Often while reading the other reports I will make a mental note of places to go, and in some cases, not to go. My hope for this report is to give a quite detailed review of the events as we experienced them. I will likely do more pics on a live basis while in Vegas, then provide much more detail on those events post Vegas!!

    Trip background-

My sis and I (angiemac on VMB) are heading to Vegas as the finale to the summer before the kids are back to school and the schedule is full on. Just by coincidence, my BFF who joined us last trip, will also be there, but with her husband!! Congrats to BFF and her hubby, it's their 5 year anniversary, as well as his birthday- I really can't think of a better place to celebrate!! For sure we will be meeting up this trip and we're really looking forward to it!

The tale of the enduring bankroll.....

On my first trip to Vegas this year with my husband, I reduced my bankroll budget as it seemed that bringing more money actually made me reckless, haha. I left Vegas a moderate winner, and was thrilled...first time leaving "up"! I took that larger bankroll on a casino road trip with my sis to Northern Washington- we hit 3 smaller handpays and further increased the initial BR! We then took that BR to Vegas in May. Although the BR did take a hit that trip, we are thrilled to be heading on a 4th gambling trip with it. We have about $4500 left. At this point, it owes us NOTHING, haha!! Can we keep it going?? Do we go on tilt and hit the ATM within 2 hours of arrival?? Anything is possible, it's Vegas after all.....

The hotel, offers, comps and plans-

This year we've really been enjoying our stays at the Palazzo. We're coming in on the August shopping offer. It's 3 nights comp, $700 FP and a $300 Visa gift card. If we accumulate 67,000 points through play, we get an extra $300 gift card. When making arrangements through the host, she set up limo transport and coded us for the VIP check-in. I later requested a couple tix to Rock of Ages in the rockstar seating, charged to my account so I could get the points for it. She responded saying she was comping them up front for us assuming the same level of play from last 2 trips....yay! We're currently Gold tier, exactly 38,574 away from Platinum. I believe our points earning rate is 15 points for every $1 of THEO earned. Hope to hit that no later than day 2 of the trip. Stay tuned on that one.....

    Thursday-

We arrive early afternoon and plan to spend our time at Palazzo since the other days we have plans off site. We will meet up with some VMB'ers for drinks and later try Yardbird for dinner that night. We haven't been before and we are trying to make our way through all the different restaurants at V/P. We will be clocking lots of gambling hours Thursday, so hoping to get some handpays early in the trip!!!

    Friday-

We felt an adequate amount of time has passed to once again attempt a "group exercise activity", so this time we're booked for Yoga in the dolphin viewing area over at the Mirage. We anticipate this experience to be much tamer than our last group exercise spectacle.....see link titled “Detailed review of Stripper 101 at Planet Hollywood". We're hoping we will fare better with this one...... Hehehe...no promises though!

    https://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/showthread.php?114173-Stripper-101-Planet-Hollywood-detailed-review

Later in the afternoon, we will attempt the "Glam App", just to test it out. I came across it in an article in Vegas Chatter when it launched in Vegas. Basically it's an app on your phone, it brings up a hair blowout menu, you choose the style, pick the price point based on the stylists experience you want, and voila! They send her to your room! It's a cool concept, so I'd like to give it a test try....see how long it takes from request to gal showing up, how the final product turns out etc. My only hesitation with this....lol.....is the pics on the hair app menu itself, IMO, are awful. I believe the gal on the site is also the co-owner, but I think it's a terrible mistake having her model. Seems to me she has a difficult hair texture and nothing looks stunningly good. So.....maybe that's the case, or, maybe the stylists really aren't good??? I'm willing to spend the $$, test it out, and report back. Good or bad. You can also order in make-up artists.....we'll see if we decide to try both!

After the hair experiment, we are planning on dinner at Tao. Again, haven't been and just making our way through the restaurants at V/P.

Friday evening we will head over to Cosmo. I continue to get offers though I haven't played there since last year. I called the identity desk directly, and the woman confirmed that they WILL release free slot play, without a stay at the hotel. My offer has $405 freeplay, which we will run through while enjoying some raspberry lemon drop martini's. I still have some slot credits on my card to use, maybe $70 or so. We will also see if we can get a chocolate espresso martini from the Talon room before heading back to the V/P to finish off the night!

    Saturday-

Pool time- we’re thinking of hitting the pool area for a couple hours, though we don't have a good track record for actually going! One option we had considered was one of the perks of Gold/Plat tier - complimentary access to Tao beach and comp daybed with $100 Food and beverage purchase. Hearing how the chairs can fill up quickly, and knowing we were planning on going around lunch, I thought it may be a good option. My host put me in contact with someone from Tao beach. Turns out that perk is only available Sun- Thursday at that rate.....weekend rates were higher. He was willing to extend it to us for $200 on the Friday, but, ultimately I declined since we likely won't last more than a couple hours poolside. The daybeds can accommodate up to 6 people, so good to know maybe for a future trip. We will likely just check out the pools on the Palazzo side.

Otherwise, planning on brunch at LAVO, dinner at Table 10, and going to Rock of Ages. And no, no I didn't know Rock of Ages is a solid 2 hours long before I requested the tickets. Ehhhh, hope it's a good show! Normally we would also be filling some of our time with shopping, but, with the exchange rates on the Canadian $$ so crappy, we may skip it this trip. Unless we win maybe! Planning to again meet up with more VMB'ers this evening too!

    Sunday-

Early afternoon flight, so nothing planned but departure!

A couple things I hope to review in detail are the Drinks2U feature on the V/P slots (drink choice options available, how long it actually took to arrive etc)- and the Gold/platinum lounges at V/P. Doesn't look like there's too much detail anywhere here on those items, so, I will make a point to provide pics and details upon return!

    Let the gaming begin!!!

I hope to see lots of handpays, or maybe just $1199 jackpots so you don't have to declare 'em.

Hope you make Platinum and win a lot of money this trip so you can take me to see the Platnum lounge during the WInter GGE.

I too enjoy both live and recap TRs. I don't enjoy the heavy frat boy/bachelor party TRs that include detailed hooker/stripper gratuitous cleavage photos and the stories regarding how many bjs one gets a trip. -- I'm sure it is due to my age and female gender. I am not a prude - I did trauma nursing for several years at a big city hospital and have seen just about everything -- now that I am older I don't want to see and hear about everything anymore lol. And of course after reading TRs here for over a year I know which TRs to just stay away from -- No one is forced to read anyone's TR.

As far as shopping - you are going right around the time schools are starting - there may be some good sales out there. You may want to check out some of your favorite stores web sites before you go. Stores like Macy's have coupons and apps etc. -- Have fun.

Will definitely be following your TR.

Can't wait for all the details. Sounds like a fabulous trip! I'm going on my first girls trip to Vegas in 2 weeks (been many times but always with husband). I too always feel like I have to go to a show just to have something to tell when I get home that doesn't involve drinking and gambling. Lol. Really interested in the glam app. I was just planning to either go to the salon or to a blowout bar. Also want to get my makeup done one or two days. Have a great time and get many handpays! And thanks for taking us all along for the ride!

Good luck VegasChic, AngieMac and BFF. Hope you get lots of Hand Paid jack pots.

I'm still trying to make my way there this weekend.

LOL I said after the last trip I was going to take a break from Vegas and here I am planning to go back last weekend and this weekend.

And have Mayweather fight and Iheart radio weekends planned too. I think it would be easier to just move to Vegas.

Have a safe flight. I'll keep you posted if I make it in this weekend.

Rock of Ages is a great show you will enjoy it my wife always wants to go see it again for a second time but we never stay at VP. Those are some pretty nice offers you have. I hope you hit them hard on free play. Will be following along on the trip good luck

What is the average cost of that glam app I might have to check that out for the wife for next trip

Have a great trip and let me know if there's a VMB meet. I'll be arriving Thursday night as well, leaving September 2nd. And THANK YOU especially for the post about the Cosmo free play. I have a baby offer of a couple of comped nights at $70 in free play. I don't the need nights (will be at Caesars and Encore) but will definitely walk over there for a drink and the $70 in free play. Thanks again for the tip and have a great trip!
