The BF is on vacation this week and I am not. We had today off together and went to our local casino for a little low rolling and dinner. They have a hotel attached and a very small outdoor pool area. I am not sure why, and I never would, but people stay and bring their kids. There was a mother, father and 8ish year old son at dinner sitting caddy corner to us. They seemed fairly well off. Not the usual looking hillbillies there in WV. (sorry but its true)

The strange thing to me was this. The father touched his son the whole time they were sitting there. Even after the food came, he never took his hand off of his son. He was petting him like you would a cat, or girlfriend. Rubbing his neck, caressing his shoulders lightly, to the point that it made me uncomfortable. Never saw anything like it. It went on for a half hour at least. It was still going on after we left I'm sure. Am I wrong here? It seemed creepy.:confused2::confused2:

It's difficult trying to figure out humanity. We are a strange breed.

As far as the touching, our own Vice President has highlight reels of creepy touching, and if you've ever spent any time in the Mediterranean, the family "closeness" is very odd by American standards.

Personally I too would find it creepy. That being said...different culture? Maybe not from around there. Perhaps the son has some sort of attachment issues and is less stressed around groups of people by being touched by a parent. Sorry I tend to play devils advocate :wink2:

Nope, white yuppies. Definitely from Ohio or Pennsylvania. Like I said, at 45 I have seen a lot in life. I was uncomfortable by what I saw. I dunno. Don't get it.

They call the southern parts of Pa. and Ohio, penn-tucky and o-tucky for a reason. Lol..... I've been in a few spots in northwestern Pa. Where I swear I heard bango's playing.
