Where is the best machine to play video poker? Can be any strip or downtown casino.

Machines that pay over 100%? Deuces wild or jacks and better?

Loosest Machines, Best Chances for Winning following basic Strategy?

What are the best machines and what are the best games?

    Which denominations would you recommend?

    Tips and Tricks?

Best player clubs, (anybody have any experience with identity from cosmo)?

    Check vpfree2.com

No jacks over 100% anymore that I know of.

Check out Trings bartop sticky in Casino Gaming section as well for information on games and returns.

There are a couple of 90(SF)/9/6 Jacks (99.996%) left in town according to VPFree2. And someone goofed at Bally's in the high limit room within the past year for about 3 days with that game before people blew it out of the water.

Certainly make the effort to play machines with a better payable, but don't obsess or get "anal" about it. I play a couple-three hours a night when in Las Vegas and I enjoy playing at the bar, even though I can find slightly better pay-tables on the floor. I enjoy the improved drink service and the ambiance the the crystal clear flat-screen TV with sports or music-videos at the bar provides a solo player like myself. You can get lucky on anything, though better pay tables and knowing proper strategy help tilt things towards your favor.

Depends on what you want game and level to play, too. At least as of July, Aria had 9/5 JoB at the $1 level at Lift Bar (of course, now that they've added 6:5 blackjack on the main floor, who knows whether their VP is next to follow), which is pretty respectable for a Strip casino and has the added benefit of fantastic cocktails.

Yeah. The other day I was trying to estimate the number of hands I've played since my last RF. I had to make a bunch of assumptions...but I'm guessing my last was somewhere in the neighborhood of 200,000+ hands ago. Not crazy. But still depressing.

No that was a 10/6 DDB (100.07%) bartop at Gustav's. It wasn't there by the time I got back either. :( I know it lasted awhile though. Another VMBer who I hope to meet later this week played it two months later. But if I would have publicly posted the 10/6 DDB game on vpfree like they did for the 90/9/6 JoB at bally's, no way it lasts a week I'd think.

I'll admit I was greedy though. I should have known it wouldn't last 6 months.

I'm a big fan of the Hard Rock, which puts me well in the minority here on the VMB. The Luxe Bar in the HRH Tower is perfectly suited for me, decent (not great by any means) payables, clear BIG HD flat screens right in front of me and a BIG ASS (that's a technical term) JBL speaker right above my favorite machine pointed down right at my head. When someone annoying next to me tries to talk, I can say, "What? I can't hear you, the music's too loud!" The machines are new for the most part and very well maintained... none of that sticky button bull-shit (another technical term). Also have super comfortable, large seats at the bar... large being important for me! Its my spot when in town for a couple hours a night and I LOVE it!

Screw that! You were smart. Like you said, it woulda been gone in a week if you had put it out all over the interwebs. (That said, I can keep a secret and will be out there in October...hinty hint hint.)

    Ack...

I keep poor records, but I'm somewhere between 2 and 3 royal cycles in since my last (roughly 100k hands I think, considering the quads I've made in that time frame). Want to break it this week!!!

Long gone! I remember it well. For a while they even had a sign "Yes, you found it" above the bank of machines.

Good luck on breaking that royal streak. I have hit a number of royals this year but the one that I want to break this coming trip is at the Four Queens. The last royal I hit there was in 2007. I play there a lot. I don't know how many royal cycles that cover but it is more than a few.

The Luxe Bar is over in the HRH Tower. I've played at the Center Bar, which is currently being completely redone, but it's always been more of a "party" bar with lots of people getting together. It's the main focal point of the property. The Luxe Bar traditionally is far more laid-back. I've had three-(3) hand pays in the five-(5) years I've been playing there (one Royal and two-4OAK Aces on DDB), and again I play a couple hours, couple nights a month at the .50 to $1 level. I don't mean to imply this particular machine is a "payer", as I've had plenty of dry runs on it when the 4OAKs aren't falling into place. I just really find myself very much "at home" there.
