The amount of money I spend in preparation for Vegas is ridiculous! I've just bought a ton of new clothes, 2 new pairs of shoes, booked my nails and tan to be done and I've still got to pay for the pre-flight hotel, hair colour and cut and a new camera.

    Anything I've missed?
    What are your pre-Vegas expenses?

Guys have it so much easier.

Just start drinking on Monday and finish on the flight home the following Sunday!! Maybe pick up some razors or something.

Whew.....nothing like your list....lol. A few days prior to leaving....hair touch up / mani & pedi. Usually will pick up a few new clothing items but not a whole wardrobe.... :)

Waxing various body parts, pet boarding, special low-carb pre-vegas weight loss foods that end up blowing up the food budget...last trip I resisted buying the new luggage that I "needed" for the trip LOL. I also buy Starbucks Vias or K-Cups that I normally would not do. An investment, but still a random expense.

The new wardrobe is a treat to myself as I've lost weight. I always feel like I HAVE to wear new clothes on holiday :)

Yeah I go through a lot, too - nails (well that's normal...just have to time it to Vegas departure time), pedi (ditto), then I have to go through my Vegas wardrobe and do some subtractions and additions, same with shoes because it's usually two pairs a day and of course new outfits = new shoes, every few years it's new luggage (this year)...

Totally agree, guys and girls are so much different... My GF gets her haircut, nails/feet done, spray tan, shops for new clothes or checks out Rent the Runway for a dress to wear out, sets an appointment to have her makeup done in the room, might set appointment to have hair done in the room, and works out like a beast for weeks before we leave.... I may get a haircut if its gonna be a little warm outside and I need to shed a little weight. And the funny thing... At the end of the night.... :drunk:

Why would you ever spend any more money before Vegas than you absolutely have to? The idea is to take ALL of the money along.

Just tonight, I ripped a pair of good shorts, and it kills me that I will have to part with $30 or so to replace them less than a month before my trip.

I always buy a new pair of Jordan's or Air Max and a couple Eagles and Phillies shirts to wear.

Warning on buying new shoes if you like to walk a lot....wear comfortable/reliable walking shoes during the day. My wife bought two pair of new/cute sandals for our trip last week, and after the second day she had massive blisters that affected her for the rest of the trip. She ended up buying two more pairs in Vegas, and neither turned out to be much better. A broken in pair of walking shoes or athletic shoes would have made the trip a whole lot more comfortable for her. Then again the drinking helped dull the pain.LOL

I think because this is my one holiday a year and I see Vegas as a glamorous place so I try to make an effort. I'm not glamorous at all but when I'm there I like to dress nice and have nice hair and nails. When I went last time is gained weight instead of losing it so I didn't feel happy or comfortable in myself but this time I have lost weight so needed the new clothes anyway.
The camera is something I don't need but want :)

I feel the same way - it's my one trip a year and I want to feel more glamorous than I do at home. I have to have a couple new dresses, plus accessories to coordinate. Mani/pedi, which I don't usually get. I time my hair cut & color and usually add an extra shine treatment. I also time a makeup purchase to coincide with the trip (don't wear much the rest of the year, so it's usually necessary anyway).

I buy an American Casino Guide and Las Vegas Advisor book which end up saving me more than the $60 bucks or so it costs.

Yep. I leave next Wednesday and I have not spent $1 for anything related to the trip and I don't expect that to change between now and when I head to the airport.

I'm the opposite, as most clothes/shoes/etc are cheaper Stateside than at home I plan my packing to leave plenty of space to bring back more than I left with.

The nearest I get to pre-trip purchases is saving recent books and magazines to read on the flight.

Amen, brother...never leave home without the twins. We probably saved $150 last week. We're contemplating a December trip and we still have a lot of great coupons in both books to use.

I have a ton of clothes and shoes so I do not go all out with new things. Basically I want my comfortable shoes and outfits that I know fit well and look good .

I always do makeup and nails so nothing out of the ordinary there. I guess the basic for me is that nobody is looking at me, so going all out with new things just seems silly and wasteful.
