So, there is really no way to get around the 2X issue.

There was a thought about charging it to the room and charging it to RCs at checkout, apparently, they look at the venue before computing the number of RCs needed.

    TR told me:

"In regard to redeeming your credits, yes your credit will redeem at a 2 to 1 ration whether you charge it to your room or now. ".

    As of 8/10/2015, the following dining venues are 2X (200RCs = $1.00)

    Tequila Taqueria at Ballys
    Searsucker at Caesars
    Yong Kang Street at Paris

That sucks. I didn't know any of the places in Vegas did that. I know the Burger place at the Horseshoe in Bossier City requires double RC's. It's a good burger but not that good.

Apparently not any longer. According to the lookup on the chart:

    https://www.totalrewards.com/content/cet-tr/en/earn-and-redeem/on-location.html

8OZ BURGER BAR at the Horseshoe in Bossier City is 100RC=$1

Seems like it is becoming common practice for places you can get a quick, cheap(er) bite.

Basically they want people to stretch for more than 1500ish RCs (or just have the credits get burned/expired), and also probably want to comp less on food that is lower margin/higher volume.

But it sure is annoying, not just for being a rip-off, but for the added complexity.

So, for the above restaurants, will a backend comp be valued at 2x as well? That's a question I have for my host this week. Does he value a $200 meal at Searsucker the same as a $400 Qua spa treatment?

I spoke with a host at Paris. He confirmed that at outlets that charge 2:1 reward credits, the implications would be the same on a back end comp.

At $100 dinner at Searsucker would be 20,000 reward credits or valued as a $200 back end comp.

Buca at Ballys is also supposed to be a 2x restaurant.

I wonder if this will be true at MAG. They don't take RC's but you can get a voucher to use there. They've been doing this for years in AC-just another way to screw their loyal customers.
