I have a free night from when I reached sterling and am thinking of using it this Friday night because I want to go to the D'Angelo concert. I read the fine print and it says 14-day advance notice required so I wanted to know if anyone has ever had an agent book a free night less than 14 days before the trip. I just spoke to someone and they said no, but I'm willing to call every few hours tomorrow if someone has received a "yes" in the past. I don't want to pay for the night because I'm going to be there less than 20 hours since I have to fly back to LA and drive to mexico the next day. I could stay at another property but the concert is at the cosmo and I have a standing room ticket.

    thanks!

I tried before at less than 10 days and did not get it, I believe I was about 10 days out.

On a side note, thank you so much for reminding me about this perk! I am going in October and rooms are expensive, I am going to try to get the Friday night free, which is priced at around $300!

Well I cannot speak on the this specific aspect of it, but it I found it depends on who you speak with sometimes. For my Oct Trip I was told I could not get a room cause city rooms were sold. I called a host and they did it for me, but said my wife's offer could not be extended. When I called reservations to secure an upgrade I took a shot and asked if wife's offer could be extended, they said yes, but it was sold out, on hold for 20 mins or so then agent came back and said we are all taken care of!

Maybe try to call and speak to a host to see if they can do something for you. Or ask to speak to a reservations supervisor.

I did look at the cosmo website just now and city rooms are listed as sold but there are terrace studios open ($35 upgrade charge)

I want to avoid a host because I don't plan on playing slots. I'm already going to be losing out on my Friday night reservation in Ensenada and paying a higher rental fee since I'd be changing it to a Saturday pick-up. I can't shop around for rates because Enterprise is only open of two or three rental places that allows you to take a car into Mexico.

I'll just see if the room prices drop Wednesday evening. They sometimes do once people cancel their reservation before the 72 hour window.

Got ya, but if you use sterling night it may still affect future comps with no play, if that is what you are concerned about. Either way, have fun!

True. I ended up using it for September 12th because there's a concert that I want to go that night. I'll know if going sometime on Wednesday. I already have my flight booked

If that is the only offer, the Sterling night is guaranteed yearly so it won't matter too much.

Think it is a direct hit to future offers just like any other comp? That will kind of suck because I was able to use the night for my stay in October by the casino rate on the room was pretty high ($400 maybe)

If I go I'm staying at Aria. There were plenty of rooms available at Cosmo yesterday and they are all gone now. Aria is still under $200 which works for me since I won't be gambling and will be in and out of town rather quickly.

If I find some nice standing room only concert shoes tomorrow then I'll be going. Heels are out of the question now since I'm going to have to trek between properties

So you are going to a concert sep12 in vegas and not the UCLA game vs UNLV? Shame. Also Mayweather fighting.

I don't go to sporting events alone.

Well if you get sterling level for next year you will get the night not matter what. You can spend your way to Sterling and not play a dime in the casino.

Since the Identity Number is going to be attached to the reservation they will know you are there so I assume a gaming day is attached to it. I meant more of the offers you get for play like my 2 week day nights I get comped. I do not know if 1 day of no play will hurt those, but I imagine there would be some sort of reduction. I did less play in my Jan Trip and I dropped from 2 weekdays or $400 credit weekends to 2 weekdays and $150 credit weekends. Then more play for me this July I was back up to 2 night or $400.

Sorry to hijack UCLA but I wanted to clarify what I meant.

Half the stadium will be UCLA fans. But I know what you mean. Im still working on my plans as all my friends backed out. Though I'm booked at MGM and now not thrilled with my choice due to it being fight night. They just better not give my suite away and cancel my limo pickup since I'm flying in Saturday. Hijack over...lol.

Similar situation here. Gf and i tried booking our offers back to back via my host. My play is good enough for a terrace studio but the gf was just a city room and they're sold out for the days she would cover. So the gf called vip booking, the super nice rep did an override and upgraded the gf to terrace studio. We will have the front desk link reservations when we check in. It's all about who you talk to and if they're in a good mood.
