    Hi all

Currently looking to book for next year, we have stayed at circus circus, mgm twice and now the aria. We fancy the new York, new York next year.

I appreciate the rooms will not be anywhere near the standard of the aria but are the rooms OK? Just standard room we are thinking.

Also what are the pools like?

    Thanks all

    Chris

My wife and I stayed at the New York New York a few weeks ago and we really really liked it there. I would not hesitate to stay there again. The staff I dealt with were great, there is a lot of great food and drink options right there and I really liked the overall vibe of the place.

We just had the basic park ave room, in the century tower on the 30th floor with a strip view. Room was on the small side but nice, clean and comfy.

Depending on the location of room, some people say the noise from the coaster can annoy them but it wasn't noticeable to us and we went to bed later than it stops running anyways. I think the higher the floor, the less you would hear it.

The pool is nice but small. Great if you just want a reasonably quiet place to relax, hangout for a bit and take a dip. If you are looking for a big pool, with lazy rivers and a big party going on, it is definitely not it.

Might be back in Vegas in November and some friends want to stay mid strip but I am leaning towards staying at the NYNY again.

As with most things, it would depend on the "mood" of your trip. For me, New York New York is easy to navigate, has good eating options (both sit down and on the go), decent rooms (you aren't going to feel luxurious and pampered, but you wont be looking for bugs, either), with the roller coaster and game room there is stuff for kids to do, casino floor is pretty mellow by Vegas standards as is the pool. I like the location and it's fairly easy to get to mid strip with the tram that runs from Monte Carlo to the Bellagio. Walking on the east side up to Paris/Planet Hollywood is quick and easy as well. So basically, if you are looking for a place that, on it's own, is a little less "in your face VEGAS !!!!!" but most definitely a part of the VEGAS !!!!! experience, then New York New York is a great option. But if you are looking for the 24/7 non stop in your face VEGAS !!!!! and/or to feel wrapped in luxury and surrounded by decadence ... then probably not the best choice for your trip.

I had a really good trip there a few years ago. We had a great time, the trip before we had stayed at Caesars in the Augustus tower, while the rooms were not as luxurious as CP, we didn't feel like we were missing out on anything. They were clean and comfortable. We had a room facing the coaster and it wasnt a prob at all. I actually enjoyed watching it run during the day. I felt the casino was pretty lively, but we were there Labor Day Weekend. I have not returned bec my gf doesn't like the food smells of the place.

The pool is pretty chill, but we always had fun and they had drink specials that weekend and no one else did. I would def stay again. You cant beat the easy access to MGM and even Luxor and Mandalay Bay.

I have stayed in rooms ranging from basic all the way up to penthouse and have never been disappointed. Always have a great time in the casino (not necessarily a winning time, but that's another story), and have been very happy with the dining options.

Heading back in 39 days and can't wait!

I really like NYNY as well. I especially like to end my Vegas visits there as it's a great place to stay when you're tired and your feet are throbbing from days and miles of walking. It's close to the MGM bus stop if I'm up to getting out and about. If I just want to stay in, it's perfect for that. I like their casino (though it doesn't always like me back), plus it's relatively small so it's fairly easy to get around on my worn out feet. There's also a large variety of places to eat, both in and near the casino. The variety covers both foods and prices. The rooms are small but clean and nice and the beds are comfortable.

Rooms are fine and a good value I think. The pool is very basic. If pool scene is important this isn't for you.

I just finished a three-night stay at NYNY. It has become my favorite property on the strip for many of the reasons others have mentioned above. While it is not "top of the line", it has been a consistently enjoyable stay for me which is very important. I have noticed the last few times I have been there that the crowd in the casino on a Friday/Saturday night tend to be in the mid 30s (I am in my early 40s). That has never impacted my stay, but others I know feel that it is a younger crowd. The pool area is very "basic" by Vegas standards. That was fine by me as I don't get into the pool party scene. The only part of the resort I would like to improve is the size of the Spa & Fitness Center. It is much smaller than other properties and it does not take much for it to get crowded.

If you are looking for a great place for dinner, try Tom's Urban. You can also request a table on the sidewalk which provides great people watching while you eat. Enjoy your trip.

    Really like NYNY.
The casino, location and games are great as well as food options.
Probably one of my luckier MGM properties at which to gamble.
The only grips we have are the bathrooms are the typical 8x8 square.
Hard for more than one person to prep in the bathroom.
Its a bit small. I can sit on the can and still turn on the shower and sink water its that small.

To add to what some other people have said. The pool is not great but adequate, improved from a few years ago.
I've stayed at every mgm property besides cc and aria and nyny is my favorite. Obviously it doesn't have everything the mgm does, it's kidt not as big.
Downsides for me - aforementioned pool is definitely not a destination pool, but nicer than most others around the country
    No poker room
    No buffet
    But the upsides
Late night the nyny is awesome. I'm a night owl and was appalled last trip to mirage to find they had essentially no food available after 1am. This is Vegas. How can this be? (Carnegie is open late, 3 I think)
Nyny has a couple late night food options, plus the piano bar for entetainment.
Easy navigation. Small enough to get around easy, big enough to have everything
Great food options. From gallaghers to shake shake. All awesome.
Rooms are better than comparable priced mgm properties close by, especially compared to pyramid rooms at Luxor.

I will always throw nyny out ther as an option to friends asking Vegas advice

I just got back from a couple nights at NYNY and have a couple observations. Upgraded from Park to Madison Ave room. Room was clean, but one side of the armoire had a light on 24/7, bit annoying. We had 'strip view' but it was 6th floor, aka the top of the building in front of my room, satellite dishes, HVAC, etc. I had just come from 2 nights in a Ballys Jubilee room and no fridge or coffee is annoying. Greenberg's Deli has great sandwiches and matzo ball soup, drink service is quick and decent quality, and a minimal amount of "ladies of companionship".
