Would have liked to take home one more bucket of quarters from the full pay Joker Poker, assuming those machines were still there. They were my personal ATM paying out in quarters.

I was at the closing of the Riv, which was a bit lackluster in comparison to the closing of O'Sheas. I wish I could be at the closing of LVC for comparison.

There was another article in another thread here on the board that said they were closing the tables games down this past Sunday night, so basically, all that's left now is the slots and the shirt store. Kinda sad, but really, when you think about it, LVC died a long time ago.

It's been struggling for some time now. I hope the D folks retain at least some of the vintage feel, as they did upstairs at the D.

    Hmmmm ... another Sigma Derby, maybe? :) :) :)

"We didn't buy the name Las Vegas Club or the player database either for that matter," Derek Stevens said.--Quote from Las Vegas Review Journal

What does this mean? Can they run gambling operations under their existing license, do the new owners have to apply for new gambling license? Is it a hint it is not intended to be a gambling operation at all?

I was wondering if the Nevada Gaming License specifically includes
the structure under which gaming will be housed ?....when issuing a license ?
Are the Stevens bros. working around the wording ?......to run gaming in LV Club
    under "The D" license ?
Would they make the hotel part - a boutique joint with their gaming across the street and
down the block ?.........that could only work Downtown, with casinos so close by.
Put in a super party pool + club scene joint for the young crowd w/ gaming next door ?

I read that as, we're going to have it shut down for a good while then we'll go to the Gaming Board for a new license instead of paying to have this one transferred and delay the sale.

suddenly i'm not so sorry to have to miss the closing of this joint. the closing of the Riv should have been the biggest blowout of the decade, but it was tame compared to O'Sheas, which was a lot more fun. i guess it's appropriate that the closing of LVC is shaping up to be a tiny fraction of the event the closing of the Riv was.

IMHO, we need to think of this as a new hotel-casino. Derek and his brother have multiple licenses. They won't have any problems getting a new license for the new place.

This will be a new and very nice place. This is the first place the Stevens will have as a completely new property. It should be a cool place, different from The D or Golden Gate.
