    Guys,

Holistically, taken together the sum, what is the best hotel on the strip?

How many different vegas strip hotels have you stayed at, and give a one line summary (pros/cons) of each please.

where would you recommend for a first timer and his GF to go?

    thanks!

I suppose it depends on your perspective.

If you own the hotels then the most profitable one would be the best like circus circus is.

the high end luxury ones dont make as much and have you swimming in debt.

Of course if you just want to stay at one there are many that will meet your needs but first you should define your needs.

With high end places comes high end people and prices so while you could afford a place like the wynn so can aunt ethel who is much older and used to a quiet atmosphere and fine dining.

Want a quick bite, well, forget it as they dont have that at an affordable price. (just using wynn as an example of luxury place).

Want a younger hipper funner crowd then a place like Cosmo would fit the bill much better. Not as luxurious as wynn but still very nice.

    All depends on your needs.

Honestly you'd learn a lot more if you did some searches and read the tons of other threads on these topics before asking such general questions.

Then when you know more you can ask more intelligent questions that will actually be much more useful to you.

The first question would take too long to post.

But to the second question, as a first timer, I would recommend Bellagio or Wynn. Bellagio is center strip and has a lot of fantastic stuff for a first timer to see. Wynn is simply a beautiful resort

Wynn is my favorite. But you're going to have to give us more info if you want responses that will actually be useful for you.

What's important to you? Luxury? Party vibe? Value? Vegas kitsch? Great restaurants and bars? Big shows on property?

How old are you? What time of year will you be going? Will you use the pool or spa? Do you prefer fine dining, casual dining, fast food?

And probably most important: do you have a strict budget you need to stick to?

You certainly don't need to answer all these questions. But we do need something. Who cares what I think the best place is if the reasons I love it are completely unimportant to you?

You know we do love the feel of luxury, the vegas party vibe was not really important, because we can always go to those places , of course budget is important, we dont want to break the bank, for dining since we are eating, honestly for me i am not a big foodie, my gf loves it though, bar scene would be nice, general affordability would be nice.

I am asking for the best place not just for myself, but to get a general idea of how other people tackle vegas.

We already have reservations at the cosmo, i am just getting ahead of myself trying to book another trip before this one is even underway?

    Please divulge more!!

The other members are right about needing more info, but...here are my very subjective thoughts.

Encore---Pros: Very comfortable, well appointed rooms and the whole resort has a very luxurious feel. Cons: Expensive.

Aria---Pros: Very nice rooms great mid-strip location. Cons: Pretty busy and you'll walk through gaming floor to get access to rooms.

Vdara---Pros: Quiet w/ nice rooms. Good location w/ easy access to Aria and Bellagio. Cons: No casino vibe.

Cosmopolitan---Pros: Terrific rooms. Great balconies with a spectacular view of the Bellagio fountains Cons: None noted.

Hopefully you'll enjoy reading some of the great insight from VMB'ers

My advice would be to check out all the properties that interest you while you are staying at the Cosmo. Choose which one you like the best and gamble hard at that property. This way you should generate some offers from that casino and might even get your next trip comped.
My favorite property would be The Mirage. It has a great pool, good food options, good mixed crowd and great location. I also just get a good vibe when I am on the casino floor. Something about the Atrium that lets in a lot of natural light that you don't get in other casinos.
If you are not a gambler, throw my advice out the window.

Since places change so much through the years, I'll give my two cents on the places I've stayed most recently.

Wynn/Encore - My favorites. Rooms, service and attention to detail are the best of any of the mega resorts in town. The whole property is beautiful and incredibly clean/well maintained. But everything is fairly pricey and gambling conditions have been deteriorating of late. Also, not the best location for folks wanting to casino hop on a regular basis.

Cosmo - Perfect location. Most rooms have terraces. Great vibe/energy, everyone seems to be having a good time. Lots of cool stuff to look at. Best bars on the strip. But it can get a little loud and annoying when the clubbers/pool partiers are out in force (no offense to them as individuals, but big packs of drunk kids can be difficult to take sometimes). And the restaurant lineup is just okay, IMO.

Aria - Very good all around but nothing really "wows" me. Good casino bars and decent restaurant lineup. Some of the best gambling conditions on the strip. But the rooms are smallish compared to the other high end new places, the in-room technology is fairly cumbersome and their green initiative means the room A/C is overmatched by the hot summer sun.

Bellagio - Iconic. Plenty of cool shit to see (conservatory, fountains, art exhibit etc). Very good gambling. Some of the best high end restaurants in town. But service is a bit snooty, it's a bit older than the other top places and all the cool attractions draw in plenty of sightseers, clogging up walkways during peak hours.

Venetian/Palazzo - Cool Venetian theme (at least at Venetian), huge rooms, ridiculous number of restaurants for pretty much any taste and budget. But gambling conditions are mostly poor and some corners appear to have been cut compared to other top tier joints.

Delano (Mandalay Bay) - Newly renovated rooms, which are actually all suites. The Delano side is surprisingly quiet and calm if you want to get away from the action for a while. Gambling conditions are decent for the most part. Overall, it represents a pretty good value. But location is the terrible for those wanting to explore the strip. And the MB casino is pretty "meh", IMO.

You have received very experienced advice and I would have to add and ask, what is you bankroll per night since it sounds like you are looking at rack rate values?

If you're the type who likes to stay at one hotel and don't leave, Wynn is the best.

It just 'feels' the nicest somehow, IMO.

If you like to walk to other casinos etc then Bellagio because it has the best location.
