The wife thinks it would be fun to try to pull an all nighter one of the nights we're in LV.

Other then night clubs and gambling, any suggestions as to things to do say, midnight through the morning?

i usually pull a few all nighters every trip to vegas. we try to plan it out so when we leave our hotel room for the night around 8 or 9 pm, we walk (slowly) up the strip and then back down the other side, essentially doing a loop or a lap and try to plan it so we get back around 7 or 8 am so we can go back to the room, shower, change, give our phones a quick jolt, then since were all dog tired we try to sit at a buffet for breakfast, load of up food and mimosas to get the buzz and adrenaline back, then start out our next day!

other than gambling or clubs, you can always just walk through the properties and people watch, we like to try and see how many "pizza by the slice" places we can stumble across and get a slice. might not be the most fun, but it beats sleeping on vacation!

No - that actually doesn't sound that bad and might be fun! I won't eat pizza while on vacation (lactose intollerant) but maybe if they serve fries or something, haha

Can probably find some lounge acts on the weekend that play until 1-2 am.

When we had an early flight out, and trying to economize, we checked out of our hotel room at the IP, checked our luggage with the belldesk, and went about a "normal" gambling day, headed straight to the airport from the strip. We slept on the plane. It was a miserable experience. Would not wish it on anyone.

You can grab a bit to eat at a café in a casino that offers Graveyard Specials.

Personally I think the best all nighters happen organically. You go out, have fun, and you keep having fun for so long that at some point you just decide "who needs to sleep?" and keep going.

Planning an all nighter for the sake of it just seems to be asking for trouble. Just my 0.02 (or 1.5 cents US)

True statement! We've never planned them but seem to happen. VP at The Linq til 4am then BJ at Harrah's and realize the sun is out when walking near an outside door. My wife was worthless most of the next day but tells everyone how much fun she had! Badge of Honor for her in Vegas.

If that works your wife is awesome.

If not, I think I would probably just wander either the strip or downtown. No problem staying up doing that. Then hit up a breakfast buffet, guzzle down some coffee and back to Vegas.

Every been to piano bars? Can have a lot of fun in those. NYNY has one and I think Harrahs. Have some drinks, sing and have a great time.

I've pulled several all nighters in Vegas, but all of them have involved a combination of gambling and clubs. Other than that, I would think walking up and down the strip and seeing all the things you've ever wanted to see in one night would be a pretty cool way to spend an entire night.

Planning it seems too much like work.
Done it a couple times partying with a group. Everyone ran out of gas late morning the next day and slept half the day.
Did one redeye flight back to the east coast 15 years ago.
    Never again

I end up being an idiot once a trip. It ends up costing me the next day because I am not a quick recovery.

Super Bowl weekend we drank at Alibi at Aria starting around midnight. My buddy went upstairs to bed around 4am while his boss and I continued drinking. His boss left at about 8am. My buddy got up at 9am to find me still there drinking. Nonstop Vodkas and Sodas. We then went to Denny's at MGM for breakfast and I walked the whole way just yelling go Hawks at random people and asking them who they wanted to win now that it was Super Bowl Sunday. I stumbled to the sports book at 11am and put $300 on Seattle even though I had a whole sheet of props I wanted to make. I wasn't in any condition to make them so I finally just went upstairs and knocked out til about 30 mins before game time. I ended up puking in the bathroom upstairs just before half time. Watched the rest of the game in bed and then went to shake shack. Traveled from ATL to LAS to watch the game in bed. Lol.

Basically repeated this in May. My buddy and his gf and I went to alibi at Aria and drank from 11pm til 3am when they headed to bed. I called a limo to the rhino. Walked outta there about 6am as the sun came up. Spent $200 on drinks at alibi and about $800 at rhino between drinks and girls. Slept from like 9am til 2pm. Came away relatively decent on that hangover thanks to pedialyte.

I have this same tendency at home, though. Go out 10:00-10:30, drink til 3, leave with a bartender and hit Waffle House at 4, go home, can't sleep til bout 7-8am.

Depending on your age - I agree with this.

Walking through the strip's hotels is also fun, like someone else said. Just make sure to be walking in athletic shoes, otherwise it's blister city. It would be good to see the Bellagio conservatory while you're there, or any other new displays in the hotels. But people watching is great too.

I wonder if the rides on the strip are open late? It looks like NYNY is open until at least 12. That could be especially cool at night.

Bar hopping around the strip is also fun. Enjoy redbull vodkas if you're trying to stay up, but I wouldn't recommend more than 2 of them.

Check out a lot of the specialty restaurants that are open late. At the Sugar Factory you can enjoy those crazy large goblet cocktails. Nacho Daddy downtown serves scorpions in their shots, which is pretty cool. They're open until 2 am. There's a lot more places if you do your research.

Downtown there's a couple places with a free slot machine, (Binion's and Four Queens I think) so you can play and play without losing money - until someone else wants the machine.

Illegal substances are great for staying up and having fun of course. Just kidding...

I think I could only manage it now if I slept from after dinner until around midnight.

For example, for the Mayweather Pacquiao fight recently it didn't start until 5:30am UK time and I went to sleep after the Man Utd game at 7:30pm and got back up around midnight and then stayed up until the fight finished at 6:30am.

I could manage it down, but only if I was with my best mates and absolutely hammered and having a ball. Otherwise, I'd get tired and go to bed.
