I just looked up the early odds for Mayweather and he is currently at -4400. Does this mean a $100 wager would net me a whopping $4.40 profit? Also, do underwhelming fights like this draw big crowds at the MGM?

i think it would be a 2.27 profit. implied probability of him winning would be 97.78 percent if it is indeed -4400. someone should check my math though

These types of odds confuse me but I think you profit $2.27. You'd bet $4400 to win $100.

I just saw a line where he was a 100 to 1 favorite. so if you bet 100 on him you would win one dollar. youd have to drop 10 grand just to win 100 dollars betting on him.

I am thinking about betting on Berto just because that's the only way for me to make any money on the fight. I don't have enough money to wager on Mayweather to win anything substantial. Otherwise I won't even touch this fight. $10 on Berto won't hurt the bankroll though.

the only way to bet this fight would be to take the dog, and hope for a huge upset. No sense betting that much on Mayweather with so little return

Unless your throwing hundreds of thousands down.. then it might be worth it for almost a sure thing.. but at that much money id be investing, not gambling lol. My last trip in vegas i saw Warren buffet. It was his first time really gambling in the sports book. he bet 500 on a Nebraska football game lol

lol exactly.. So some guy asked him what hes betting on and after he told them, kinda out loud.. about 50 people ran up there after him to place the same bet.. I guess since he is rich and knows real estate, and investments, he must know football right???

You also have the option to not bet the fight, or bet something like "will it reach a decision"?

What was Buster Douglas' odds when he took down Iron Mike? I can't recall...

If I were in town I'd bet on The Tomato Can just to hope for a big upset. But I'd put no more than $200 on him. Mayweather isn't losing his shot at 50-0 to this guy. And barring Berto knocking him out no way do the judges allow Mayweather to lose
