What does it mean if I have an assigned host?

I posted a few times earlier in regards to never having a host, or thought it would too my pressure to have one. Now I have hosts at my casinos (Mirage, Mandalay, V/P). I really don't care for any of them: from not replying to my texts when I'm there, to pressuring me to play more, and not returning my confirmation code for upcoming trip! I thought having a host/s will enhance my experience!..LOL. I'm both platinum at Mlife and V/P. At Mirage, I was forwarded to a host when I was booking an offer of paid tournament and comped 1 BR Penthouse suite. That was my first experience with a host there and she never got back to me with a confirmation number or anything...not even her own info! At V/P I was told in the system this particular host was my designated host, who was pressuring me to play more...fking annoying! These were recent experiences, past month. I was serious when I said I never had a host and never thought about having one. I have a some questions:

Can I request to work with other hosts, even though particular ones were assigned to me "in the system"?
Am I thinking too much if I worry about how other hosts will see me switching hosts and cause me grief?
Is there a difference between table game hosts and slot hosts?

PS-Anyone with recommendations for hosts at Mirage, MB, and V/P via PM will be greatly appreciated. I primarily play slots and video poker. My wife and I are both Asian...don't know if Asian hosts will make a difference as well.

Regarding the Mirage, you are "forced" to deal with a host if you are Platinum. Kind of annoys me as all my host will do for me there is book marketing offers. The few times I've asked for extras, she just ignores me. She doesn't even tell me no, just ignores my e-mails. The last time she did that, I called marketing, cancelled my reservation and stayed at the Bellagio. So I don't have a host to recommend :).

If you aren't happy with your host, I would switch.

My experience with CET was different than UK. I asked for a change of host. My request was specific ( i had met a host that I liked). Marketing was accommodating.....no problem.
I have had hosts coded to me that I had never met. Years ago I used to book everything on my own without dealing with a host. BUT, since the host was coded to me, he/she got credit for my play.........without ever doing anything for me.
