My buddy got an offer from cosmo and it was nice but not sweet enough to make us book a trip with them. were not big enough rollers for a host or anything but are they negotiable at all? if they added anything else we would probably jump all over it.

In the past, I've encountered some great casino marketing reps (Mirage and Aria come to mind) who apparently knew what my ADT was (or some other metric) and felt my offer was very weak relative to that. But they've always had to transfer me to a host or speak with a host themselves in order to get me anything more. They've never had the ability to make the decision to give me a better deal on their own.

I have also been able to get Cosmo reps to extend an offer a few times when my travel dates were within a week or two of my offer dates. But they've always put me on hold briefly, evidently needing to speak with a host or supervisor.

So, I guess I'm saying that it's worth a call but you'll almost certainly need to speak with a host. Everything is negotiable. But you have to get to someone with the ability to negotiate.

My offers are always sweetend a little. Vegas is built around gambling and tips. I always tell me host that I will take care of her upon my arrival and always get about 30% more in Freeplay & Food then my offer. I always tip her 100$ for the exceptional service.

I think you'll need a host to do it, and unless your buddy has a significant past play history either at Cosmo or at some other property that the Cosmo host can verify in some fashion, they're not likely to go out on a limb upfront.

The word "negotiating" also implies that you give something up to get something else. I've been able to waive a large amount in Resort Credit in exchange for additional room night(s) at MGM properties a couple of times, but that was a few years ago.

I'm thinking: do you have your own Identity Card and do they know you will be there too?

The offer sent to your buddy is probably based specifically on his/her play so if you call up with the approach of: "Hi, this is _______ (the buddy), I have this offer: _________. I was thinking of booking it, but my friend, h0und10, who is Identity number ________ is coming with me. We are fine on sharing a room, he doesn't need his own, but can you include anything in the way of freeplay, food and beverage or what not for him?"

Because if buddy's offer was, for example, a free room and $50 free play and you had an offer that was a free room and $50 free play, then if you are sharing a room both your offers should be slightly better.

If you don't have your own Identity Card then a few thoughts:
--> If you phone in don't have buddy say "h0und10 doesn't have his own card because he plays on mine" - this makes it sound like buddy's rating from Cosmo is based on both your play so if you aren't there then technically buddy is being overcomped
--> If you are going to ask for extra you should specify what you want as extra. If you just call up and say "We are intrigued by the offer, but want more..." and they go and get you more but its not a more that you want (IE: they add in 2 free cocktails at the pool, but you don't want to go to the pool) then they are going to feel like you are wasting their time because they can't just keep going down the list like "how about this? no? let me see... how about this instead? no? let me see..." where each item takes a minute or so of computer work to call up and see if they can do it or not. Plus if they give you extra and you say no they did their part and you rejected it, whereas if you are saying "give me _____ on top and I will book" then they just have to see if they can do that or not.

My host always sweetens whatever offer I have.
