London to LAS not the way most fly but this is different

I met a couple who flew from LON to LAS via Aero Mexico to Mexico City than LAS. They said it was cheaper than Virgin and other carriers. You may want to check this out. As usual good luck.

 

There are a lot of one stop journeys that are cheaper than Virgin and BA. Around £200/£300 cheaper if you're lucky.

 

A popular 'scenic route' currently is to go Dublin-London-Vegas as that saves a large chunk of UK departure tax.

 

I've traveled the Dublin route ( live in Belfast ) and it's £100 pp cheaper to travel dub lon Vegas than Belfast lon Vegas.

 

I have tried various routes via MSP, DTW, SLC, ATL, EWR, to me it is worth the extra 100-200 GBP so you dont have the hassle of changing planes/TSA etc. and possibly missing out on Vegas time if you miss your connection.

Ouch. I flew Boston to London on Virgin for under $400 in November 2002. Round trip, all taxes and fees included. That was a common fare for off season. Now even in the middle of winter you can't touch that ticket for under $750. Way way way over inflation.

 

I use the ITA "On the Fly" app or Google flights to check airfare, there are some dates in October with round trip fares as low as £526 with United via LAX.

 

I have done different routes myself and I do prefer the direct from Manchester although they are seasonal, so depending what time of year I do have to do the change sometime. Atlanta and Philly are probably the best changes I have done, Chicago is the worst and I'm going on a lads trip next time and guess which way we are going yes that's right Chicago. Although the guy who booked it has given us 5 hours on the changeover so should be ok this time..

 

For our trip in Sept we booked OSL-LHR-SFO and LAX-LHR-OSL for the return, all flights with BA. Total was £302, plus £40 for the initial flight to Oslo.

The same dates direct from London at the time were £795!

I'll be damed if I'm flying here there and everywhere robbing me of precious Vegas time. Im by no means what you'd call rich but for £300 extra ( I rarely pay over £650, plus extras for legroom, in the summer with points and promo's ) just get me there already :evillaugh

 

We are flying in from Oslo the night before, so the flight on the day to SFO will be the same. A few days there first, then up to Seattle and then on to Vegas, before heading off to LA to meet up with an old school mate for the last night. It's an 18 day trip, so the £300 or so saved helps with the overall costs.

I booked BA yesterday. AMS-LGW, LGW-LAS for $527 (€480) round trip. The cheapest tickets I've ever booked!
Tickets last summer were over €1000 (and yes, of course we paid it...) and now under €500. So cheap!!!

Any trip starting in the UK gets hit by the biggest airport taxes in the world! That is why trips starting elsewhere via UK end up being cheaper, absurd, but then so are airline pricing policies these days.

 

I think taxes etc alone. out of Gatwick for longhaul are over £300 so that is an awesome price to Vegas

 

I have just booked for Feb 2016 with Thomas Cook, flight Manchester to Vegas non stop return £464, can't turn that down
