Please bear with me, I am new to CET TR this year. Was there an EOY TC "bonus" in 2014. If so, how did it work? Thanks in advance.
Yeah, I got that one. I'm just wondering if I have a "safety net" this year. I am close to 7* and there is plenty of year left . . . .
I know that the past couple of years, people have received emails giving them a "loyalty tier credit bonus". Not everyone received the bonus. I took offense at CET calling it a loyalty bonus as clearly loyalty was not an indicator for receiving the bonus. Last year, I was told that 7 Star players did not receive the bonus (some had the previous year). The number of tier credits given ran a wide range. From what I can tell, tier credits were given out to entice players who were close to achieving a higher tier. The loyalty "gift" were given out in August/September in previous years. (there are threads talking about it) I'd be surprised if CET gave away the bonus this year since they've done 2 separate "gifts" of tier credits.
Agreed. It was more of an "enticement bonus". And I would also be surprised if they gave it out this year too.
I've been diamond for over 8+ years and last year is the only year I can remember them giving away a "tier credit gift" like they did. Not sure exactly why, but it was also the first year they raised the requirements on diamond to 15,000 (From 11,000) and 7 Star to 150,000. It was also I believe the first year they offered the "bonus" credits for points levels earned in a day. As someone earlier stated I would also be surprised if they did it again this year because of the previously granted 50% bonus.
I've never received an email for the bonus loyalty tier credits, but I've seen details posted on other websites in 2013 and 2014.
The bonus creidts were an enticement to keep people engaged in light of the new tier requierments last year that had people potentially missing higher tiers and also looking ahead to the looming bankruptcy. They've already done a bonus program this year. I wouldn't expect another one, at least not one involving tier credits.
In 2013 I received a loyalty bonus of around 650 tier credits. It brought me within 1000 credits of reaching Platinum so on my November trip of that year I stayed at PHO to reach Platinum. Last year I was already within 500 points of hitting Platinum and did not receive the bonus. This year I hit Platinum on my trip in May so it will be interesting to see if they issue me any bonus points to entice me to shoot for Diamond. Mark
I'm curious to see if there will be one as well. Several posters in this thread feel that there won't be a Fall bonus, since they already had a couple earlier this year. I wouldn't be so sure though. Seems to me that the gains would far outweigh the losses for CET. You get people playing at a higher than normal level, or even scheduling an extra trip, because they feel that the next level is now within reach. That can lead to some substantial extra business for CET, all in exchange for doling out a few extra hundred or thousand TCs here and there.
I will attest to this: Until last year, I had only been Gold, ending the year with around 2000-3000 points (or whatever was just below Platinum at the time). But with the tier bonuses last year, and a "loyalty bonus" or whatever they called it, I entered december with 4200 points. That was close enough to encourage a road trip to Tunica to end the year. I got Platinum my last night and ran to the TR desk to get my new card. So, if they can get you close, there are gullible people like me making that extra trip. And now I'm much more conscious of playing more at CET, instead spreading my play around. Gotta keep that Platinum, maybe go on a roll and let the bonuses take me to Diamond (yeah, right!).
I got like a 1,300 point bonus last year to help me get closer to diamond. I sadly never made it (but this year I am already at 20,000 loyalty points, woo!)
No bonus for me last year. I think I ended up at 21000. This year with the earlier bonuses and note trios, I'm sitting just under 40k.
I really hope they don't keep giving away free tier credits. The first year I hit Diamond it felt special. There was never lines to get into the lounges, when you showed your diamond card anywhere it almost commanded Special attention on its own. Now, I shit you not.. I saw 2 Diamond lines (one at a restaurant and one at a Taxi stand) that were actually longer then the regular line. (still moving faster but much longer) I like the idea of the bonus tier credits for hitting daily milestones because it rewards the heavy gambler and as such aids in the spirit of the program. Things like the last 2 tier credit bumps while helpful to everyone just inflate and devalue the diamond level because that is the only level that is far enough away from the next level to preserve the 7* somewhat. - - - Updated - - - I really hope they don't keep giving away free tier credits. That's what Loveman et. al. shoot for. My mother was a consistent low diamond from 2008-2012 with virtually 100% of play in St. Louis. As a primarily penny slot player, her best year looked to be about -$8000 for the year. Given her average bet and game choice when I saw her gamble, the chance for her to have a winning year was near nil. And since she never visited Vegas after 2004 or 2005, available comps from CET as a whole were likely underutilized. How do I know these numbers...I'm a bad and curious son with barely computer literate parents. Good news is...she has cut back her play a lot (no longer weekly) since Hollywood took over Harrah's in St. Louis. But Dad told me she lost about $500 in 4 hours at Hollywood last week...bah But he won about $300 on "Kitty Litter" that day... at least that what he called the game to me at first...:evillaugh
"Kitty Litter" - Lol. Pleepleus was telling me that there is a casino in SoCal (might be Pechanga) that has "Kitty Litter" in their High Limit Room at the $100 level! At the risk of inciting a lot of "bad juju", IMHO, what devalues the Diamond level is the (relatively) low level of gaming that it takes to achieve it. 7* is, at a minimum $250,000 of slot action, but diamond can be made with as little as $25,000. (bonuses included and calculated at maximum value). The lines at the Diamond Lounges don't particularly bother me, nor do the people that "buy their way in" (i.e. Founder's Club) it's just knowing when to time your visit, and AFAIK, the other things don't really impact me. I don't drink alcohol, so that diminishes the value of the lounges for me.
Thanks for all the replies. I was just looking for a way to skip a trip at the end of the year. I am close to 7* and will make it eventually.
